Overtime I go to Tokyo’s the service and food quality goes down. The hibachi grill – people who do it.. looks like they did get 2 days of training. The last server seems irritated all the time. The saving grace is owner who makes children smile. Overall poor

We arrived here during lunch soon as they opened after my niece’s graduation. We actually had more ppl in our party than they allowed at that time but they were VERY accommodating. I haven’t been to this location since its been in Shreveport. The property is beautiful. Food, service, drinks were amazing. I will have to go back to try the hibachi for dinner.

My recent lunch visit to Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse was nothing short of delightful, blending impeccable cleanliness, efficient service, and delectable cuisine into a memorable midday escape. From the moment we arrived, the establishment’s spotless condition was immediately apparent—every corner gleamed with care, including the restrooms, which were maintained to an exemplary standard that speaks volumes about the team’s commitment to hygiene and guest comfort.
Seating was a breeze; we were promptly accommodated at a comfortable table without any wait, allowing us to dive right into the experience. While the hibachi grill seating is reserved exclusively for dinner service—a thoughtful touch that preserves the interactive spectacle for evening diners—our lunch setup was perfectly suited for a relaxed meal. The food arrived in remarkably short order, yet it was evident that no corners were cut in preparation. Each dish was bursting with fresh flavors and expertly balanced seasonings, earning it high praise as truly outstanding.
Though the building itself carries a touch of vintage charm that might feel slightly dated to some, it adds a cozy, unpretentious ambiance that enhances rather than detracts from the overall appeal. In an era where modern aesthetics often overshadow substance, this subtle nod to tradition feels refreshingly authentic.
Overall, Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse delivers a seamless, high-quality dining option that’s ideal for a quick yet satisfying lunch. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking great food, swift service, and a welcoming atmosphere—I’ll certainly be returning soon!

The restaurant was very dirty. Walls had food and drink stains ALL over. Emergency lighting and other equipment up high were grease coated. Our grill has grease and food in corners, disgusting! The vent hood was very dirty and greasy. Food was blan and no seasoning. Our drink order was wrong. Soup was almost cold. Some of our sushi showed up and 45 minutes late and it came to us wrong. The item that was delivered, one of our party was allergic to it. Steamed rice showed up after chef cleaned up and left. Chicken was not de-veined. No flavor. Steak was very fatty, also no flavor. Vegetables were still very crunchy and not cooked. We had one server trying to handle 5 grills! I have pictures of the filth.

One of our favorite places…

Starting with the outside decor, it’s really quite fetching !!
A little Koi pond – with Koi – and a little bridge over the water. So very cute !!

We’ve been for lunch and got dinner.
Both are very good.

Service is always good and servers generally friendly.

Food is great ! I do love their fried rice ! They have a good sushi bar if that’s your thing.

I will get pictures next time !

definitely worth stopping in! when we came in, the greeter- an older gentleman- was friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor about my service dog while not making a big deal of it or making things awkward. he also was really kind to the child sitting at the next table over. the staff as a whole were wonderful- the waitress was attentive and personable, and the hibachi chef was humorous and engaging. the food itself was fantastic- definitely be prepared to have tons of leftovers, cause the portions are huge! all in all, it was a wonderful supper and a good experience, and all for a reasonable price. I will definitely be back!

Always have such a great experience here at Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse. The moment you walk in the door you are warmly greeted. We went on a Sunday night and it was relaxing environment. Our waitress was always prompt and our Chef was very personal and friendly. We both ordered the Steak and Shrimp with fried rice and a variety of sushi. Excellence is all I can say!

I hadn’t been to this place in over ten years; thought I drag my mother to experience this the first time in a long time. I had always been meaning to go back.

The Chef name ‘Smoki’, or ‘Smogi’ had performed perfectly. Most importantly, his demeanor was VERY playful, very friendly, and he a nice cute giggle. I was so honored to eat what he prepared. I would highly recommend you ask for Smoki the chef.

Hannah, our waitress, was also very helpful and patient. We had so many questions and seemed a bit needy, but she helped the best way possible. Their signature/house dressing for the salad is REALLY good. I had to buy a bottle from them which was a nice size for $7. You do get your money’s worth becuase they make A LOT of food enough for two people to share one menu item.

From start to finish, our visit to Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse was nothing short of incredible! My two coworkers and I were in town and decided to give this place a try—what a great decision! The service was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before—attentive, welcoming, and truly exceptional.

We went all in with our orders: two sushi rolls each, an appetizer, and hibachi for everyone. It was an absolute feast! The portions were generous, and everything was beyond amazing—fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. We had plenty to take home, but trust me, it was hard not to finish everything right then and there.

After our meal, we moved to the bar section, where we were greeted by the one and only Mr. 21! That’s how he introduces himself, and he did not disappoint. His selection of top-shelf scotch, brandy, and tequila was surprisingly extensive, and the pricing was more than fair. He made our experience even more memorable with his hospitality and knowledge of fine spirits.

If you’re looking for a place with phenomenal food, unbeatable service, and a fantastic bar, Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse is it. We will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
