I’m originally from KC. I live in STL now but came to visit my mom and aunt (twins) for their 71st bday on 12/4. My daughter tagged along with me. I’m a huge sushi lover so googled “sushi near me” and lo and behold, this gem popped up; only 5 mins away. I checked the reviews and when I saw 4.5 out of 5 stars with thousands of reviews, I was SOLD. We pulled up and the “Open” sign was on but there appeared to be no cars in the lot. Unbeknownst to us at the time, we were relieved to find out that the parking lot was on the other side of the building. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were immediately greeted with a smile, and when greeter accommodated our seating preferences without hesitation, we knew we were in for a real treat. We were promptly seated and the waitress brought us menus and waters. The menu alone is comprehensive with an extensive list of options: cocktails, appetizers, regular and specialty sushi rolls, bento Boxes, fried rice, noodles, and even hibachi. I tend to get a little overwhelmed with too many options so it took us a few mins to decide whay we wanted but once we did… baby… it was on. We were utterly surprised by the quality and quantity of food. I expected it to be good but this gave phenomenal amd had my full attention. From the gentle and respectful yet attentive service to the cultural presentation to the bold, “party in your mouth” flavors to the way the fresh ingredients just melted in our mouths . To kick this party off, we ordered drinks. I ordered a Key Lime Pie Martini and my daughter (she’s 25) ordered the Red Melon, both were . For appetitizers we ordered the Miso Soup, Rock Shrimp and Gyoza, again . For entrees we ordered Vegetable Fried Rice, the Missouri, Rock n Roll, and Belton Specialty Rolls, all . I cannot say enough about this place. This is now my “go to” sushi spot in KC. If you love fresh, well-seasoned, and quality Japanese food search no further. Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse in Belton is THE place to be. So don’t walk run ♀️ ♀️ ♀️ 10000/10 highly recommend

As I am here working in the area and a sushi lover, I decided to give this place a try. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The service was prompt and courteous. I had an order of 10 pieces and a small roll. I also ordered an additional roll off of the daily specials. The meal came with a simple green salad and soup. I will be back again as it was an enjoyable meal. You should give it a try as well.

My absolute FAVORITE!!! Our friend brought us here for the first time a few months ago and we were both hooked. The atmosphere is great. Love the decor and candles they have at the front desk. The staff are very kind, hard working and fast. The food is phenomenal, I always order the sweet potato rolls, fillet mignon habachi, with fried rice and hot strawberry puree sake. We always leave full, content and satisfied. This is our go to sushi place.You will definitely be back very soon. Thank you for such wonderful service and fantastic food.

On arrival I had plenty of nicely paved parking places close to the entry. We arrived around 5 PM so it wasn’t too busy. We were greeted promptly with a smile and escorted to a booth. The service was great. We wanted a boat because it looked fun but wanted to choose our own rolls. They quickly agreed that we can have whatever rolls we wanted on the boat.
The sushi was delicious and arranged beautifully. They try hard to serve the best food, kind prompt service, and the best presentation. We enjoyed our meal and didn’t have anything leftover to bring home. Try their ice cream choices for dessert. They are light and delicious. They also have some unique drink options to choose from.

The food here’s super tasty, and the staff are really friendly. I only eat fully cooked rolls, so I loved the dinosaur roll and the spicycowboy roll. I’ll definitely swing by again next time!

When I ordered online it let me put in special instructions (which is always awesome) so I added that I had a gluten allergy. After I submitted the order they called because one of my items had gluten. He offered to alter it slightly to make it gluten free and verified everything else would be ok. When we picked it up they had gluten free soy sauce and had everything labeled “GF”! On top of that the sushi was amazing! Highly recommend

Normally their food is good. But I got the spider roll today and something told me to look inside of it . Never seen shrimp look like this and they keep the shrimp skin on it as well . Cooked shrimp shouldn’t be grey. I’m pretty disgusted and won’t be coming back. Normally their food is good . Today made my stomach hurt .

First time trying this place out. Got seated pretty fast. That’s where the good ends. As I write this review, we’ve been sitting waiting for our food for over an hour. When we say we wanted the check, magically the food was ready. Still hasn’t been brought to the table. Come here if you don’t have any other plans for the rest of the night. I’d give zero stars if I could.
