Delicious sushi rolls. I arrived near closing time and was greeted by the manager offering Hibachi or sushi and I wanted sushi. The service was excellent and fast. I took the reccomendation of the manager and had a Texan roll, which was a great choice. I also had a spicy tuna roll and squid salad. There were folks having Hibachi, which looked equally as good. Very friendly management and staff. This place is definitely worth a visit if your craving sushi or hibachi while Lufkin.

The Tokyo Seafood & Steak House is a casual restaurant where you’re seated around a hibachi grill as you come in to eat. We we’re seated at a setting for 8 people that had 2 hibachi grills back to back. Once you place your dinner entree you’re offered the onion soup and salad as seen in one of the pictures. I ordered the hibachi shrimp and my daughter ordered the hibachi steak. The dinner’s come with shrimp appetizer, hibachi vegetable and hibachi rice. They both tasted amazing! Aside from the hibachi dinner entrees they offer appetizers, sushi, sashimi and several special rolls. As an appetizer we ordered the Edamami (a soy bean). The entertainment of watching the cook and eating with strangers make for a great dinner experience. I have been to other hibachi restaurants and the biggest difference is that the cooks presentations were much more entertaining flipping their spatula’s and so much more interaction with the customers that you forget you’re eating with strangers. This is the reason I gave 4 stars and not 5.

The staff are incredibly friendly, especially the hibachi chefs! They make the best fried rice in Lufkin. I have never waited to be seated, and the wait for your food to be prepared is not long at all! I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t speak well enough about it.

Have you ever been to a Mexican food restaurant where they drown everything in queso because they can’t make good food? This was similar except they used spicy mayo instead. Even on rolls that shouldn’t have anything on them (think tuna roll). I have no idea if the sushi there was good or bad because it was smothered.

Was going to give this place 3 stars because it is pretty low quality sushi until I tried the lufkin roll.. .. Absolutly fantastic and so tasty. There is no sushi bar and sushi is made in the back. Sushi roll prices are very low but the nigiri is pretty expensive. Worth the stop to try the lufkin roll, well done!

Used to be my favorite place as a little girl. My mom was the health inspector and the owner would give us cookies. Now I’m 22 and I went back. The chef did 0 tricks – didn’t talk to us. It was awkward and he made 5 other to go orders with us there. The salmon was legitimately cold and it was almost stick like. Never seen salmon like that. Their soup is different now too. Won’t be going back
