Simple spot with Western and traditional floor seating offering grilled meats & various sushi rolls.

10/10. We’ve consistently had excellent service and truly delicious meals every time we’ve visited Tokyo Sushi and Grill. Their Hibachi is the best we’ve had anywhere in Grand Rapids – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Even during our March visit, the vegetables were crisp and vibrant, and the shrimp tasted incredibly fresh. Always a fantastic experience.

The food was not bad, seemed to take forever to get and expensive I thought for what we got. However, everything is expensive now. The menu is extensive with many different rolls and hot food also.
Our server was not very nice she mumbled, acted rude, and mimmium time spent checking in on us. Overall acted board and did not want to be there. Atmosphere was nice. Greated when we came in and could choose our seat. As we were leaving the place got busy.

I’ve been to Tokyo Grill a number of times now, and I can confidently say they do an excellent job. I’ve only been there for lunch, but the place is clean, looks nice, and the staff is attentive. This last time our order was taken quickly and the food was ready fairly quickly. The quantity and quality of the food was good. I went with sushi set C, and all of my sushi tasted fresh and was well made. My coworkers’ meals looked great. We shared a sushi roll that was creative and delicious, too. I’ve never had any issues going here for work related events, and I hope to continue to do so.

Noodles were okay, but the hibachi chicken was amazing. The atmosphere was very good, and the staff was incredibly helpful and polite. Prices were extremely reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend it.

Sushi list is extensive. Good options on there for beginners and experts. Incredible waitstaff and awesome Japenese restaurant ambiance. Food is fresh with 5 star presentation. It’s in kind of a weird spot in a strip mall, but there’s plenty of parking because of it.
For my money, it’s probably the best sushi in town. I heard a local mention that the head sushi chef here actually trained in the Tokyo sushi scene.

This place has quickly become one of our favorite spots! The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. We’ve tried several different things now, we have yet to be disappointed. Service is friendly and prompt. Can’t wait to go back and excited to go every single time.

The service here was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience really enjoyable. The food was just as impressive. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, especially the sushi. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great sushi and a welcoming atmosphere

Really disappointed, this place is usually great. My family came here for dinner tonight on valentine’s day, so we were expecting it to be a bit busy, especially since it’s a Saturday. But this was beyond anything I could’ve imagined. They were packed and we overheard multiple employees say that they “did not expect this”. they had one waitress. She was a bit awkward at first, but very quickly we found out she had no idea what was doing or what was going on, when she said that “she recommended that we order everything at once, and you’ll get it as you get” Then we were given more servers and turns out they didn’t even work there, they were RANDOM CUSTOMERS. Throughout the night, us and every table around us had our orders either mixed up, or just completely forgotten, and every time the waitress came in she would say “okay who’s is this?” and at one point, when we didn’t know, she yelled at us to “figure it out ourselves” So that was cool. Finally once we got our food, half messed up and the other half of it forgotten, we gave up and went to go negotiate the check because that’s crazy to want us to pay for all of this, the customers who decided to play waiter all night were negotiating for the restaurant, and then our real waitress counted our money wrong to the point where we just gave up and decided to let them have it and we left.
Hopefully they’re able to figure out whatever was going on tonight so it doesn’t happen again.

TLDR: one of my fave places for sushi, although I don’t get out to the area that much- but I would definitely recommend!
We started with a hot tea and Diet Coke- both were as expected
I got a salad and miso soup, (Soybean Soup w/ Tofu, Scallions and Seaweed) and he got a Noodle Soup(Japanese Thick Noodle Soup w/ Kani and Toppings)- both were really good.
I ordered the Sushi A (California Maki & Six pcs, Sushi -Chef’s choice). He ordered a spicy tuna roll, and a couple other rolls I couldn’t figure out the names of… sorry… but everything was good!
We visited late summer and I’m just getting around to leaving the review, but we’ll definitely be back again!

A bit pricey, but tasty and fresh! My go-to is salmon, and theirs was great. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive to our group of 7.
