Tables are a little close together, but it always feels cozy and not overcrowded during the week. There is plenty of seating. Parking can be tricky, if traveling in a group- I recommend carpooling. Their sushi, hibachi (especially steak) and soups have never failed me.

*they also close way before 9 now*
I love Tokyo Grill and have been a staunch customer for many many years, but recently decided to get takeout on my birthday and $13 steak hibachi had a total of 6 pieces of steak… never had this happen before.
Edit – they have now also started cutting the phone off 45 minutes before the even close. They should change their hours to 8:15 if that is when they plan on closing. I drive home from Durham around 8 and can no longer pick up food at 8:30 because the phone is off the hook. Not sure what’s happening to this place.

For a take out restraunt, it’s pretty good. The food is as expected for take-out food. The price is very reasonable. It’s a mix of Japaneese, Chinese, and American for lunch or dinner. Notices they offer a wide selection of breakfast biscuits and breakfast platters.
The food is always good but don’t state hours of operation and stop answering the phone 45 minute before you close my only complaint.

Ordered 3 meals and 1 side. The kids chicken fried rice was ok. The general tso was soggy. The hibachi steak was the same texture as the mushrooms very squishy. The soba noodles were I think were just so over done they couldn’t even be eaten like noodles they mushed together and broke apart.

I spent 9$ and as you see in the picture you do NOT get much for that price ! I bought broccoli and steak , it was tasteless, they also didn’t offer any sauce like MOST hibachi places , hell , that’s the least they could have done , I had to go somewhere else just to get a hotdog so I could get full ! I’ll NEVER go back ! I should have known better to get this type of food at a GAS STATION, that was my first mistake! My 1st and last time I’ll get anything from so called Tokyo express , I should have known better ! And in that picture, YES ITS A SMALL CARTON , NOT ONE OF THOSE LARGE ONES YOU GET FROM ANY NORMAL TAKE OUT FOR LETS REMEMBER 9$ FOR THAT !!! If you notice, aside from 2 or 3 5 star reviews, the other 5 star ones were done a year ago or more , things have changed big time in the last year or so.

I was wondering how they made my order so fast. The veggies weren’t done, the egg rolls weren’t either. They crunched like salad. The guy taking my order might as well have been a robot. He couldn’t have cared less. Those carrots are good, though, and the ginger sauce is too.

Great food at a good price. Do not let the location fool you.

It’s inside a gas station, and I know that kills the atmosphere for me, but the speed and quality of the hibachi are way better than the only other place to get hibachi in Roxboro.. 10/10, definitely worth every cent.
