I’ve visited Rocky Mount several times and decided to try Tokyo Express for something different from the usual dinner options. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite meet my expectations. The sushi rice was dense, and the rolls were unevenly sized, which affected the overall texture and presentation. Service felt a bit inattentive, and the prices seemed higher than comparable spots in the area.
While it wasn’t the right fit for me, sushi lovers might still want to give it a try to see if it suits their taste. Personally, I’ll stick with Ichiban next time for a more consistent experience.

Friendly fast service with an abundance of food and decently priced however the seasonings different from the usual. Disliked the sauces and rice but veggies, meat and carrots tasty. Meat tender enough for a 16 month old to consume.

I ordered $85 worth of food. We got 4 different sushi rolls and this was the worst sushi I have EVER had! They were out of the fish eggs that go on top of the rolls and no one told us that they were out or I would have not ordered. Worst SUSHI EVER!!!! We had to get the crab roll replaced with the sunshine roll bc the soft shell crab was burnt. Save your money not worth it!!! Tuna in sunshine roll is not sushi grade it’s like mush and room temperature! GROSS!!!

I eat from this restaurant every couple of weeks. The food is great and my order is always correct. There’s one person named Lauren that works the drive thru usually, she is such an asset to Tokyo Express. She is simply a shining star with a great attitude and friendly personality. She goes above and beyond to make sure I have what I ordered. Overall, I would highly recommend Tokyo Express.

Mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, onions, carrots, vegetable rice, or noodles, and hibachi chicken all for $10 and change….you can’t beat this place! DELICIOUS! My favorite carrots of all time. The portions are enough for Mom and I to split at lunch. I added a side of carrots. I will be doing this again, soon….God willing and the creek don’t rise! We keep coming back…it is perfectly prepared every time. Same cashier every time and she is always friendly.

I went through the drive thru and picked up my food. The wait time was minimal and the service was great!! You definitely get a lot of food for your money!! Would recommend anyone to give it a try.

Very good for your dollar for Japanese. The chicken was good and has nice flavor and chew to it. The rice was basic, needed a bit of seasoning to it but with the yum yum sauce added to it gave you just enough. I’d be willing to come back again.

This was the best place I have ever been to get sushi and it was fresh the cashier was friendly and I could tell the cooks care about their food because it was plated so nicely and so fresh. We had spicy crab and California rolls I will be back it was so great and the prices are even better not expensive at all

I can only vouch for the sushi as I haven’t had any of the plates yet but the sushi is on point! I haven’t tasted a roll I didn’t like yet. The drive-thru never takes long and the prices on sushi are very reasonable.
