I love Tokyo Express! I ordered the Maki Combo Set: B and a side of fried rice. From the A+B+C, I chose the salmon roll and dragon roll. I have had other lunch specials and dishes which were also very delicious. Theres plenty for anyone! The boba teas are also very good, and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere of this cute, tiny restaurant is not overwhelming; it’s very comfortable and sets a perfect vibe. I highly recommend it.

This restaurant is a scam. We made an order through their website and called them seconds after to cancel it because we did not realize that one of the items one of our friends are highly allergic to. They told us that within the 0.5 seconds of making the order, the order is “ready” and for us to pick it up. It is not ready but they did not care to refund or accommodate, they just lied because unless their sushi is of the lowest quality, there’s no humanly possible way it’s ready in seconds – they only set it as ready so we can’t request a refund. They told us to call doordash but we ordered it through their website.
Order placed: 2:13 pm. Right after we placed it online, we called them. Pick up is set at 2:30 pm. Right after we called to cancel, order is “ready”: 2:15 pm.
Do not order your food here, they do not care about the customer and refuse to cancel your order. It is so scammy and I do not recommend going here. There are many better sushi options in Poughkeepsie, I recommend going to Ginza Sushi or Tomo.

I am sorry to say this is the worst ramen I have ever had. Decided to try this place for the first time, and while other dishes might be good (based on other reviews), the ramen was terrible. The meat was not marinated in anything, just tasted like salty, boiled meat. The noodles were rubbery and salty. The broth had barely any flavor except for…more salt. The egg was fried? Usually you get a soft boiled egg with ramen but fine. If you’re going to order from here, don’t get the ramen.

Their location is very close to Vassar College, so we dined with kids at this restaurant every time we visit the school.
And they named sushi rolls with very interesting names. But it’s hard for me to tell what kind of fishes or ingredients by just looking at the pictures( Vassar roll?). Make sure you ask them to clarify.

Tokyo Express is my favorite sushi place in Poughkeepsie. For the past two years, we’ve ordered from here 1-2 times per month and the food is perfect every time.
I can heartily recommend all of their sushi (the A+B+C Express is my go-to meal), appetizers, and bubble teas.
I’ve also been happy with their COVID protocols throughout the pandemic — they were one of the few places we felt really comfortable getting takeout from at the heights of the pandemic because of the contactless pickup window.

Dinned in for sushi rolls while in the area. The quality of the food and the presentation blew my mind away. Amazing value for the price. The salmon roll had 6 pieces, and in other restaurants two pieces could equal the size of each of these pieces. The boba tea was delicious and reasonably priced. Our server seemed overwhelmed with assembling to go orders, but immediately brought the check when I flagged her down.
