Had the chicken with spicy chili oil and it tasted great! Very flavorful with great umami kicks to it. Though the portions were smaller, the food tasted great. A little pricey for the size. No restroom and only a small bar like table to sit by the window.

I honestly expected way better. The food here was a huge let-down from the moment it came out. They microwaved the onigiri/musubi right in front of us, which already killed the vibe — the rice came out mushy and hot in weird spots, and the salmon filling looked really questionable. The color was off and it just looked… gross, like something that’s been reheated too many times instead of freshly made.

The spam musubi wasn’t any better — rubbery spam, egg that tasted old, and everything kind of fell apart because of how poorly it was warmed.

And don’t even get me started on the strawberry matcha. It looked nothing like what they advertise. Instead of a pretty layered drink, it came out murky and dull, literally like swamp water. No brightness, no separation, nothing appealing about it. It tasted just as weird as it looked.

Overall, the presentation, taste, and freshness were all off. Definitely wouldn’t come back or recommend.

The food was mid and we watched them just microwave all the meats & fish. The spam was extremely pink like it was boiled and kept in a warmer, and the salmon was 100% packaged. The strawberry matcha latte looks nothing like what they advertise either and tastes bitter and low quality. They also kept falling apart because of how the moisture was trapped in the wrapping. Seriously sucked for the expensive price. I’ll just walk myself to Yaya tea next time.

Love the creativity and huge variety of onigirazu, but the price is a bit high for the portion. What we’ve gotten for $13+ each was a lot smaller than shown in picture (roughly size of my palm). The flavors were alright though.

Pretty small seating area but nice ambience. We still left to sit elsewhere.

I got the strawberry matcha latte which was about $11. The matcha was light but good. The onigirazu had miso plum, shiitake, boiled egg and added cheese to it which made it loaded and delicious

Matcha is decent, i think the onigiris are the main feature here and I enjoyed the spicy karage. Limited seating and they’re not very comfortable, more of a grab and go place. They can get quite backed up so come during off peak hours.

Miso soup was the best part of this meal. I got a combo with the plum miso egg onigirazu, edamame, and miso soup for around $20 with tip. They don’t give you a plate even if you dine in, the edamame was very cold and came in a small sauce container, and the miso in a paper coffee cup. Kind of weird to have bar seating and no eat in utensils? Also no bathroom, and there were a few flies I kept swatting away. But the miso was super flavorful (though it doesn’t have tofu). Staff were nice.

This is one of 3 places I always make sure to visit when I am back in New York. I dream about their Chicken Karaage Garlic Chili Oil Onigirazu on a monthly basis. It is perfectly flavored, well-seasoned, texturally diverse, made-to-order, and a good balance of protein, carbs, and veg. It is also a great portion of food to either split or eat yourself, depending on how hungry you are. My tip would be to go with a friend, get two onigirazus, and split them.

The setup of this store is nice because you can watch your food being prepared right in front of you. And the employee uniforms are cute. It comes pre-split and beautifully packaged to show the cross-section, so the experience from start to finish is perfect. Everyone I’ve recommended this place to has loved it and I will continue giving this establishment all my money because there is nowhere else I’d rather put it.

Their miso tuna avocado onigirazu is also a solid option but the karaage one is truly extraordinary. I really do not think you can go wrong with any of their offerings. It’s clear they are doing something right because everyone in the restaurant smiling, laughing with joy, or saying “wow” between each bite.

Next time I come back (which WILL be happening), I will need to try their matcha, as the color looked vibrant.

The creamy matcha is so incredibly top tier!! I am convinced it’s the best thing to order here.
The beef sandwich was really good!! I wish the filling went a little bit further to the edge so that you’re not left with a big bite of rice at the end but it’s great.
The sandwiches are filling but I could easily eat the whole thing.
Don’t expect seating on the weekend (one table outside)
It’s a great gluten free friendly option.

Got the salmon avocado and karaage chicken onigirazu, as well as the blue moon and strawberry matcha drinks. Overall, everything was very good and filling. Can’t want to try the others!
