The BBQ is all you can eat and oh my god did I eat. The meat tasted amazing, you could tell it was quality meat. All the meats and dishes were seasoned perfectly. The grill was really fun to use, I liked this style compared to the other bbq grills we normally see at restaurants in Portland.
The service was warm and friendly. They tended to us but also left us alone. There is a 1:30 limit and we certainly overstayed but they did not say anything or make an issue which I appreciated because it had been a long time since I saw my family.
I will definitely return, maybe with my parents or husband, to have more bbq.
Staff are all very friendly, they will come to ask what you need even they are often very busy.
The only downside is their kimchi has a bit odd of taste. But other side dishes are good .
I love that the vent for the grill works so well. Usually, when we eat kbbq, we feel greasy and sticky, and we don’t feel this way at Toji. My phone was even on the table and didn’t have any grease splatters.
We would be back, for sure. The only reason I give 4 stars is because the first time we tried to eat here, we waited over an hour for a table and left to eat somewhere else. I’m glad we gave them a second chance.
They have the best banchan we have ever found at a korean bbq spot and the best meat. Seriously, we clean the banchan plates everytime before we leave.
We get the plates of meat rather than the all you can eat since we have specific meats we love and just want large quantities of those.
Get their Toji Galbi and make sure to get a side of ssamjang to go with it for dipping!!
Also these are the sweetest servers and they always make sure we are taken care of. We love this spot.
One Waitress asked if we had reservations and I pointed to the clipboard near us saying, “yes we signed up.” My name was down and it said “6:40pm” when I signed up. She walked off and we didn’t see her again. We saw another couple right by the front door finish eating, pay and leave. So bam! A table opened up.
After 30 minutes, two more couples walked in. Just like we did. Signed up. THEN they were both seated before we were even acknowledged. It was really disappointing and upsetting. We left as soon as that happened and it left us not wanting to come back again. It wasn’t fair at all. Our previous 2 experiences here, we got seated immediately, put in the corner, and neglected as soon as our food arrived. So we always got Buffet style (no refilling of the foods though) which is plenty of food for us both, the sides are very small to share between 2 people so I would suggest asking for more right away when you have their attention. We always also get 2 large beers so we don’t have to wait around for refills.
Review from 2024: The Korean BBQ Buffet menu? Do it! $30.99/per person. Tons of meats to choose from, little sides, and sauces. What a deal! They dissappear on you though, no refilling on drinks or food unless you get up and wave them down to ask. ($10 charge for asking for a box of course for food that isn’t eaten. Just so you know, its on the menu in fine print).
