The Seafood Tofu Soup and Seafood & Beef Tofu Soup were both super flavorful without being too salty, and the Galbi was tender with that sweet-charred taste that makes it perfect with rice.
The rice itself was great too — soft, chewy, and served in a little pressure cooker.
Overall just simple, cozy Korean comfort food. I’d come back for sure.
1. Our server didn’t speak English very well but seemed very impatient during communication, almost as if blaming us for not speaking her language.
2. There were three of us, but we ordered portions for two to share because we wanted a light dinner. The server appeared unhappy about it and only brought two plates. When we asked for a third, she looked surprised and annoyed.
3. We avoided asking for refills on the small dishes because her attitude made us uncomfortable.
4. When serving food, she expected us to clear the table immediately and said “excuse me” sharply when we didn’t react fast enough.
5. We noticed she was friendly and talkative with Korean customers, joking and thanking them warmly, but offered none of that to us.
At one point, we were literally trying to get another server’s attention without letting ours notice — just to avoid interacting with her.
We still left an 18% tip, because that’s not how we express dissatisfaction, but the experience was deeply disappointing. It’s hard to understand how she can be racist toward other Asians while not having working English in the U.S. — truly astonishing.
Driven passed here so many times and finally decided to try it for an early dinner one nights. This place did not disappoint.
Loved the combos they offered and that the tofu soup is a regular size portion in these combos.
We got the Galbi and beef tofu (spicy) combo and it was delicious. The Galbi is sweet, juicy and you can tell it had been marinated a while as it was full of flavor.
Tofu soup was delicious as well. Good amount of spicy, fair portions of beef inside and full of flavor. One of the few places I finished all of it without having to take it home.
We also tried the bulgogi which also had a lot of flavor. I’m not usually a bulgogi fan, but this was good.
Side dishes were good, nothing that stands out but it’s not a negative as all of them are perfect compliments to the main courses.
Service was excellent, a few times, we didn’t even have to ask for more sides as they waitresses brought more over for us.
Next time I want to try their spicy pork or spicy chicken.
I just wish they were in a plaza with better parking, as it can be difficult at busy hours but that’s the norm in that area
Tofu Bean is my go-to whenever I’m craving good comfort Korean food! My husband and I usually get the tofu soup combos with galbi. I always get the seafood tofu soup and it comes loaded with shrimp, oysters, and clam! Everything is so delicious here! All the entrees come with the traditional banchan and it’s always freshly made! You know a Korean restaurant is good when their banchan is on point!
As a Kpop fan I also love how they play Kpop and kdramas on the tvs! They even have RM’s autograph displayed in the front of the restaurant as you walk in! Being Army I can’t help but fangirl over it whenever I visit!
