Toby’s Dog House in the Upper Peninsula is a total hidden gem—casual, delicious, and full of good vibes! We tried the pork egg rolls (crispy and packed with flavor), the Lions Dog (a perfect game-day twist on a classic), a juicy burger, and some crispy fries, and everything came out exactly as ordered—hot, fresh, and spot-on. Portions were generous, and the quality shone through every bite.
The staff couldn’t have been friendlier; you can tell they genuinely love what they do, chatting with us like old friends and making the whole experience feel welcoming. If you’re in the area craving comfort food with a smile, this is your spot. We’ll be back next time we’re up north!

The fish in the fish basket was fried perfectly, crispy outside, flakes inside. The fries that came with it would be better if crisper. They were too soft and mushy.
The French dip was tasty and on a soft roll.

We dine on Toby’s take-out whenever we’re in Munising for more than a day. We have both tried multiple items from the menu, and have always been pleased with the taste, quantity, and cooking technique from everything we’ve eaten of this establishment. Though they are noted for their specialty hotdogs, I am a fan of their Gyros and their Seafood Po’Boy. Don’t go their expecting to sit, as it is take-out only. And it is cooked on demand so it is fresh, but you expect to wait while it is prepared. But, it is well worth the wait, ioho.

I am a picky eater, but this place right here was beyond amazing! The food was cooked freshly (the French fries does not have seasons on it but the fresh and shrimp does!)

This place is excellent!! Delicious selection of sandwiches & many other options. Tried something out of my comfort zone and so glad I did! The French Po’Boy was delicious! And the Piggly Wiggly my fiance had he enjoyed very much. Will definitely be back for more delicious food.
Also, a lovely large doggo looks over the lot from his fenced in patio as you wait for your food. I like to see him as a guardian or a mascot. If you haven’t tried Toby’s you are really missing out. Try it, your stomach and taste buds will thank you!

We drank at Barge Inn and walked across to Toby’s Dog House and had a Kracken! Fish/shrimp and Lobster- absolutely amazing. The tomatoes were so good too. I take them out to eat first. lol

I’m from out of town and my friend who lives close suggested it and I’m glad she did!! I don’t like hot dogs so I would have just glazed over this place, but they had delicious po-boys (highly recommend the pulled BBQ one). The guy working was super friendly and funny and added a great vibe to the visit. You can eat next door at the brewery but we got all our food togo since we needed to head on our way. Highly recommend this place!!

Toby’s Dog House is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you ever wasted time eating hot dogs anywhere else. Their glizzys? Absolute Hall of Fame level. The onion rings? So crispy they could double as Olympic gymnastic rings (if you could stop eating them long enough to try).
The vibes are right up my alley.. there’s a shaggy shepherd “watch dog” who clearly runs the place from his post on the deck. Don’t be fooled, he’s not just there for security… he’s making sure you don’t drop any fries.
The person who took our order was hilarious! 10/10 would let her roast me while handing over my food again. The Lions game was playing next door and we were able to watch while still eating outside.
If you’re looking for good food, good laughs, and a side of doggy cuteness, this is the spot.
