Stopped by Toast of Texas and had a great experience. For a restaurant that’s been open less than a year, they are doing an excellent job with both food and service.
Our server, Maleya, was friendly, attentive, & made sure we were taken care of throughout the visit.
Compliments to Chef Marquis because the food was outstanding! Some of my favorites were the sweet potato cornbread, catfish and grits, oxtail quesadillas, and the bananas foster stuffed French toast. Everything was flavorful!
I also appreciate supporting Black-owned businesses, and this is definitely a spot in Houston worth checking out. Looking forward to coming back when I visit Houston again

We came in early on Saturday morning and beat the rush. There was only one other table and so the restaurant was quiet. (The music was a little loud…for us). The restaurant is small and bright. More people were coming in as we ate. Our server Malia was friendly and professional. The menu is unique and the food is extremely tasty. I had catfish and grits and hubby had the oxtail omelette. My catfish was crispy and flaky and my grits needed no other seasoning. The braised oxtail was tender and delicious. The bathroom is large and clean. We will definitely be back to try other potentially delicious items on the menu

Everyone was so attentive and caring, even the cooks came out to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The music was tasteful, and the food was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

Great food! Great service! Our waiter TJ took care of us from the time we walked in til we paid our check(which was very reasonable) The GM (Roderick) was very knowledgeable about the restaurant and the menu; very pleasant to talk to. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the shrimp and grits and the sweet potato cornbread! None of the entries disappointed. Will be visiting again soon!

I came in on a Wednesday, and the service was easily top three I’ve ever received at a restaurant. Brandon was friendly, respectful, and incredibly resourceful. He truly went above and beyond. I ordered the oxtails and grits, which were amazing. Although they didn’t have the original oxtails prepared for the dish, I could tell Brandon noticed my disappointment and immediately found a solution. They improvised and still delivered an incredible plate. I’m not even sure what the original version is supposed to be, but I honestly can’t imagine it being better than what I received. This was my first visit, and it definitely won’t be my last.
The only constructive critique I have is the floors were sticky.

Finally my type of brunch close to home.
Parking: Plenty
Large groups: Possibly
Prices: Comparable
Atmosphere: Casual and family friendly. There was music playing.
Arrived to enjoy brunch by myself the day after Christmas. I was seated quickly. There were other dinners there but enough seating for one. The decor in the restaurant is very pretty. You can tell it has a woman’s touch. I started out with a French 75. My food order consisted of wings, waffles and sweet potato cornbread. I will say that chicken is cooked with love and by either an auntie or a granny. It was perfect. They were small wings, not those tough dinosaur wings some restaurants serve. I do not enjoy a huge wing. Let’s move on to the waffle. Im a lover of crispy outside and fluffy inside type of waffle. I can tell this waffle would have been that, but the hot fried wings on top made the waffle really soft. The flavor was great though. Next time I will ask that they put my wings on the side. The French 75 was definitely “GIVIN” take your time sis. Drink me slow and sip your water in between. After all F75 has gin and champagne in it.
Overall Im definitely going back to try other items. Im so glad this place is close to home.

I visited Toast of Town Houston for breakfast while hosting an out-of-town guest. Since we were craving breakfast food, I recommended this spot even though it was my first time there. My guest ordered two entrées to go, which included an omelette I ordered for myself. Unfortunately, while eating my omelette, I discovered a long piece of hair that was cooked into the food. This was very off-putting and disappointing, especially since I had recommended the restaurant. Food safety and cleanliness are important, and this experience really took away from the visit.

I’m a foodie. I like robust flavors. I got the Bananas Foster stuffed French toast & a side of grits. The foods have great flavor, they just weren’t cohesive. The French toast was great tasting but just didn’t taste like it was all meant to go together. The grits as well, it was seasoned grits. Tasted like maybe chicken stock or the water used to boil sausage and cajun seasoning. I couldn’t quite figure out why I didn’t like them. The grits weren’t nasty, just … idk. I also got the Hennessey Passion Fruit, its basically a $13 henny shot on juice. The sweet potato cornbread was great though. It could actually be a dessert.

OMG!!!!! The food, the service and the atmosphere was all amazing. I had the catfish and grits and I cannot say enough about how good it was. The seasoning and the way they fried it hard just like it like it. My son had the strawberry cheesecake French toast and it was made to perfect. I highly recommend this place. So happy we have a restaurant in the area we can sit down and enjoy an amazing meal. I will certainly be back. Shoutout to our waiter Brandon……great service.

From the moment we walked through the doors of Toast of the Town Restaurant in Rosharon, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming environment that immediately set the tone for a great experience. The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, making us feel right at home.
Our waiter, Terrance, was exceptional. He didn’t just provide service—he went above and beyond, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our entire visit. His attention to detail, friendly personality, and genuine care made a lasting impression.
Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely outstanding! Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. You can tell they put love into every plate that leaves the kitchen.
The music added the perfect touch, creating a lively yet relaxing vibe that made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
If you’re in the area and looking for a spot with a welcoming vibe, top-notch service, and amazing food, you definitely need to check out Taste of Town Restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!
