To Sok Chon is a reliable spot for traditional Korean comfort food. The dishes are classic and well balanced, with familiar flavors that feel homemade rather than overly commercial. Soups and stews come out hot and satisfying, especially on a cold day, and the side dishes are fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, making it a comfortable place for a simple meal without any fuss. Service is straightforward and efficient, nothing flashy, but everything you need is taken care of.
Overall, a solid choice in Palisades Park if you’re looking for authentic Korean food at a reasonable price.

Been coming here for years and years. Their food is steady good and it’s probably my goto for 돼지국밥 in the area. Seems like they expanded on the menu as well. Can’t go wrong with this spot.

Delicious! The soups are very tasty and very generous with meat! I ordered the gamja tang and it had more meat than potatoes which is unheard of and made the meal very satisfying. The gukbap was also delicious and filled with meat. I ordered a side of blood sausage/soondae and it was very fresh and delicious! I left feeling warm, satisfied, and with leftovers. The price for this food amount and quality is amazing. Highly recommend coming here!

This is one of my favorite spots for gamjatang!!

The location is perfect – right next to King Spa, so you can enjoy a hearty bowl of soup either before or after your relaxation time.

Just a heads up that the broth here is definitely spicier than other places!

Service is amazing! They refill your banchan without you even having to ask.

I especially loved their kimchi banchan, super fresh, perfectly fermented, and packed with that satisfying sour kick.

To Sok Chon located in Palisades Park is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Korean comfort food. Known for their soup rice dishes and hearty, home-style meals, this spot is famous for serving up bowls of warmth and flavor that taste like they came straight from a Korean grandmother’s kitchen.

Their Daeji Gukbap (돼지국밥) is absolutely phenomenal. The pork bone broth is simmered for hours, creating a rich, deep umami flavor that is both comforting and satisfying. The tender slices of pork soak up the broth beautifully, making every bite melt in your mouth. Served with a steaming bowl of rice, fresh scallions, and spicy chive mix, it’s a customizable experience where you can season to your liking with their signature shrimp-based salt.

Beyond the gukbap, the banchan (side dishes) are fresh and plentiful, complementing the meal perfectly. The restaurant itself has a cozy, no-frills atmosphere, focusing on delivering traditional, homey Korean flavors rather than flashy decor. The service is fast and efficient, ensuring you get your meal piping hot and ready to enjoy.

My go to Korean soup place. Always tasty and fresh. Their pork feet are the best! Not sweet or salty just perfect. Pork bone soup is excellent. Korean blood sausage is tasty. Everything is tasty and very original Korean.

Authentic Korean food. Servers are very busy to keep checking in on you but they’re friendly. I highly recommend the potato and pork backbone stew, and jok bal (braised pork feet). It surpasses all Korean food I tried in Manhattan。

I’ve been here twice. So far so good! However if you go later after 7:30 they may be out of stuff. The first time we wanted to try the gamjatang but they were out and this time they were out of the blood sausage combo. It’s disappointing not to be able to get what you want especially if you’ve driven a bit or have guests from out of the area. Not sure if they take reservations but there could be a wait. Parking is tough but there is a shoprite across the tracks if you want to risk it. I had no issue. I highly recommend the oxbone doganae sulrungtang soup. A must have every time. The blood sausage combo is awesome. We had the jokbal which was really good the first time I went, but slightly less better the second time. Definitely recommend and will come again.

I really love this place. My parent, my grandparents, and cousins from Philadelphia even ask me to buy food and bring it down from north jersey even. That’s how seriously Korean and great this place is.

Best on a cold day, best on a rainy day, best on a snowy day. But really I wanna say that this is great no matter the weather. It just hits hard on colder days.

I recommend the galbitang, dakdoritang, and dogani tang. You won’t regret!
