First thing, the menu said that the price of food in the menu included the credit card fee. So if we paid cash there would be a 4% discount. No problem, I paid with a credit card when the bill arrived. I noticed that there was an additional charge added to the credit card despite what the menu said. I ignored that, no worries.
Next thing we noticed was that a 15% tip was already added to the final bill. So the credit card charge and a 15% tip. Our bill went from about $65/$70 to $83/$85 just with these charges.
I still ignored it and went ahead and paid the bill. When it was time to sign the check I noticed it again had the tip option added. This time the options were to select from 15% to 20% to 25%. The tip calculated was based on the final amount I had paid that already had the 15% tip added. This really put a bad taste in my mouth for this restaurant. I mean after paying close to $85 you want me to add more tip?
Anyway I went ahead and just cause the service was really good I added another 5% tip to make it 20% tip in total. Realistically that was almost 25% in tip cause I calculated the 5% on the tax and previous tip. Anyway I didn’t like what they did and in the future I’ll probably order take out or delivery from them instead of dining in. The tip system has really got out of hand.
Be advised that the menu is old and the prices are lower in the menu than what your final bill says.
Papaya salad could have been spicier, but I didn’t think of asking. Chicken satay would have been better marinated in satay sauce but was good anyway… and the side dip with cucumber and carrot was amazing!
My son (15 years old) had the best pad thai he ever ate in his life. And I ate the best green curry (chicken) from a long time ago… in Thailand.
We are only here for a few days, and don’t imagine having dinner elsewhere. Congrats to the whole team!
I tried their pineapple fried rice. It was delicious.
Iced tea with bubbles is good too. A great portion of bubbles inside. It has a gummy taste to it.
Update: We ordered soups & noodles.
Good taste.
Overall: Easily recommended. But it’s not the best place to dine in. It’s not meant for it.
