TNT Ramen brings authentic, tasty Japanese cuisine to the far Southside. The restaurant has only been open since August, and, as such, the menu is still developing. Patrons are offered a choice of three appetizers and three ramen dishes alongside a couple of seasonal drinks. What TNT lacks in sheer variety, though, they make up for in flavor. My wife and I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and Chicken Paitan with the cucumber salad and Chicken Karage. Everything was promptly served, hot, and delicious!

Customer service, which for me is almost more important than the food, was likewise top notch. Our waiter greeted us warmly from the moment we walked in and was thoroughly attentive throughout our meal. It’s such a blessing to see an increased variety of culinary options making their way to historically under resourced areas, and I foresee this being a very frequent haunt
for the Mrs. and I.

We had the spicy miso Karaage as an appetizer it was so delicious I wish we had ordered two.

The cucumber salad was dressed well, crunchy, flavorful, spicy and it complimented the spicy miso Karaage very well. It was yummy and refreshing.

We ordered the chicken ramen and added an extra egg and noodles. It was very flavorful. We added chili oil to the Ramen and let me tell you…kicked it all up a notch.

I was surprised by a delicious piece of crispy chicken skin(s) in the ramen. Tasty!

We were so full we couldn’t fit dessert. I had a Thai beer, Singha hit the spot. It’s not heavy, it paired well with this meal.

We will definitely be back. My only recs, adding a fried chili oil wing to the menu. Mmmm mmmm mmm.

So happy to have such a gem close to home! There’s nothing like it in the neighborhood. We got the cucumber salad which was refreshing and so tasty! We also got the karaage chicken which is super light and very flavorful. They also have a spicy option.

The ramen is to die for! We got both the chicken and the tonkotsu and both had very rich, flavorful broths, the noodles were cooked to perfection and you can swap in and swap out toppings from any of the ramen on their menu which was a nice option.

Prices were so reasonable and they also DoorDash so super convenient! We will DEFINITELY be coming back. We were also told by our amazing server that they are expanding their menu in the coming months to include rice bowls and dumplings and eventually turning the adjoining space into a cafe with coffee and breakfast. So excited for what’s to come!

Finally, a ramen shop on the South Side that’s not Hyde Park… my prayers have been answered. I ordered a reg Tonkotsu and a spicy Tonkotsu. The spice was real but still enjoyable, next time I’ll just ask for light spice. Also had the cucumber salad (I could eat this by itself multiple times a week at any time of day) and the chicken karaage. The atmosphere was really cozy and friendly. I talked to one of the workers and they said they’ll be adding new items soon, as well as a cafe area in the space right next door that will be serving breakfast items (both buildings are connected & can be accessed from the outside or inside). Right now theres a small art gallery in that space, featuring some dope photography on display. This place has some good personality and overall the food and the energy of the space is great.

Cucumber salad and spicy chicken karage were phenomenal! I liked my Tonkotsu ramen but it wasn’t piping hot like ramens are supposed to be (in my opinion). Next time I’ll make sure to note that when I order. Fantastic place, though!

$15 lunch special was a great value.

What a pleasant surprise finding this gem in the neighborhood. Great service, great vibe, great food. The ramen broth is exceptional with its earthy richness. The apple shrub drink was delectable, full of apple pie goodness and a pop of fizz. The music created a chill vibe by the likes of Isaac Hayes and such. Gratitude for this discovery.

Definitely a welcome addition to the Southeast side. The new location on Commercial is very clean and modern with polite staff. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and spicy miso chicken karaage to-go. Both dishes were excellent: gourmet ramen, delicious chicken with rich umami flavor, and everything was carefully presented and packaged. Will be back again and again.

I had such an amazing ramen experience here! They’ve rolled out a delicious new fall menu, and everything we tried was spot on. We ordered the Tonkotsu, cucumber salad, spicy miso karaage, and the apple sip soda (so divine, btw!). Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor.

The Tonkotsu broth was rich and comforting without feeling too heavy, perfectly balanced and deeply satisfying. The noodles had that perfect springy-chewy bite, pairing beautifully with the tender slices of pork. Every topping tasted fresh and intentional, and the marinated egg just melted in my mouth.

On top of the food, the service was quick and genuinely friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming—the kind of place you just want to linger in. I’m so happy we finally have a ramen spot on the east side! This is officially my new go-to whenever a ramen craving hits.

Second visit and even better! The Chicken Paitan was rich and comforting—tender shredded chicken, crispy skin, and perfectly jammy eggs. The chef surprised me with a fried chicken bite dish with a zesty sauce. Overall great experience. I’ll be back.

I’ll be honest — finding really good restaurant options on or near the East Side of Chicago has been rough. In my opinion, literally every restaurant around here has been disappointing… except this one.

The ramen here is absolutely outstanding. You can tell right away that real effort and pride go into the food. The broth was rich and full of flavor, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the whole meal felt super authentic. Honestly, it felt like I was eating at one of those great spots up on the North Side.

The staff was just as good as the food. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. The whole place just had a great vibe.

This restaurant is seriously a breath of fresh air for the East Side. It’s awesome to finally have a place around here that delivers high-quality, authentic food. If you like ramen, this place is a must. I’ll definitely be back.
