TKU Thiru Kuppusamy northborough was a delightful discovery for us. This was our first visit, and we happened to stop by accidentally during our vacation to Boston—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

We tried the mutton chops, crab masala, king fish fry, regular fish fry, and chicken Pallipalayam, and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced. The seafood stood out for its freshness and perfect seasoning, while the chicken Pallipalayam had that rustic, traditional taste that’s hard to find done this well.

What truly elevated the experience was the outstanding hospitality by Vicky, our server. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. His service and recommendations made the meal even more memorable.

We walked in by chance, but we’ll definitely be coming back by choice. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, flavorful food with exceptional service.

This is a truly authentic South Indian restaurant and such a welcome addition to the otherwise largely drab Indian food scene in Boston.

Located in a relatively large space near a pretty lake in Northborough, they get a lot of flavours spot on. The Biriyani and generally anything mutton is excellent here. The soups were generally a watery broth full of flavour as you would expect to find in south India. The porotta was good and prawn village curry with the whole peppercorns was very good. Dosa was pretty good – not spectacular.
The filter coffee too was good.
Staff in general were pleasant and happy to explain stuff – so nothing to complain here.

Now for some grouses – the nannari sarbath was too sweet – I was delighted to see it on the menu but the sweetness was a killer – maybe they will do a 25% sugar version soon. We did not enjoy any of the thalis – curries and combo did not add up to much as we saw it. Desserts in general were mediocre at best. They also made the cardinal sin of serving cold Gulab jamuns (with ice cream) – that alone would have wrecked the rating from me – but the mutton makes me view that digression with some uncommon benevolence.

All said – it’s a great place to try if you want some authentic Indian flavour in this part of the country – you may not like it if looking for a non-traditional flavour or spice profile.

We had a group of 5 and our first time here. Just a comment about the excellent service. He was just so nice, but didn’t catch his name. Everyone was friendly and attentive.

As for the food, I actually don’t like any spice and got the pasta Alfredo lol. I did try for my very first time a couple of small pieces of the Indian foods. The spice level was exactly what was expected on the different plates. We ordered a lot of little stuff.

Everyone enjoyed their meals and took all the leftovers home.

The resteraunt was really big and a separate room more for the bar feel. It was extremely cold outside and late at night so not crowded.

Give it a try.

Went an early afternoon and ordered one of each types of thalis (veg, chicken, mutton and fish) also ordered that days special chilli paneer. The chilli paneer was excellent. The veg thali was very limited in the type of items. The chicken thali is the best of all with everything tasting good. In fish and mutton thali the appetizers were good but the curries were on the sweeter side. I feel it is better to go à la carte rather than thalis.
In drinks we ordered Amrut. It was good but very high priced.

The food we ordered was absolutely delicious! We started with the Village Style Chicken Gramathu Varuval (Bone-In) as an appetizer and the Kanyakumari Fish Fry (Pomfret) both were bursting with authentic South Indian flavors that instantly took me back home.
We also ordered a variety of vegetarian dishes and every single one was amazing flavorful, fresh, and perfectly spiced. The Mutton Biryani was another highlight, rich in aroma and taste, cooked to perfection!
The server and manager were so kind and attentive, taking their time to explain the menu and make sure we got to try their best recommendations.
If you’re craving true Indian flavors with warm hospitality, TKU Kuppanna’s is definitely worth a visit. We loved everything about our experience here!

I wanted to recommend an excellent South Indian restaurant I recently visited. It is one of the best I have been to, offering an authentic Madurai-style menu.

We ordered five appetizers and five main courses, and every dish was outstanding with perfect spice levels and great quality.

The service was also excellent. Our waiter, Venkat, provided wonderful suggestions, all of which were a hit. I highly recommend anything made with parotta.

This is a must-try if you are craving authentic South Indian food.

I recently visited TKU with two of my friends for a late lunch, and we all had a really pleasant experience. I ordered the Vegetarian Thali, while my friends tried the Chicken Combo Thali. All the items in my thali were tasty and felt freshly prepared, though I realized afterward that I might have enjoyed some of their other menu options even more.

The manager was incredibly kind and mentioned that if I had talked to him before ordering, he could have suggested alternatives, and he even offered me a Dosa to try, which was a thoughtful gesture. The staff member who took our orders and brought out the food was very friendly as well. In fact, every staff member we encountered was warm and welcoming.

The restaurant was pretty full when we arrived. We had booked through OpenTable, but I think we would have been fine even without a reservation at that time of day.

Overall, TKU delivered great service, fresh food, and a very hospitable atmosphere. I’d be happy to come back and explore more of their menu next time.

We were group of 4 and went for lunch. Ordered a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The non-vegetarian dishes were great according to my friends, especially the mutton chops. I enjoyed the dal, peas curry and idlis (super soft!!). The onion podi dosa was ok, nothing great to write about. I recommend this place for people who love non-vegetarian dishes. If I was craving dosa, I would go to another chain. The staff and service was impeccable!!

All of the food we got here was so good! We got the mutton biryani, pallipalayam chicken, and mutter paneer as well as some garlic naan. Something I would say was odd was the menu online definitely is completely all AI photos. The pallipalayam chicken appetizer (pictured) looks nothing like the AI photo on the website. If you look closely at the menu photos online they all seem to be AI. The menu in restaurant is literally a word document with no descriptions or photos. Anyways I thought the food was fantastic and this place is worth the visit and I wish businesses would stop using so much AI.

Some places don’t just serve food, they create memories. TKU was one of those places for us. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate our wedding anniversary than TKU. We visited on October 28th for lunch and were blown away by the flavors and the setting. The non-veg thali meal and pomfret pan fry were exceptional. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The lake view added such a peaceful charm, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Nestled in a beautiful Northborough, MA neighborhood, it’s about an hour’s drive from our home in Connecticut, but absolutely worth it. A wonderful spot for anyone who loves great food and a serene atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting TKU soon during the holidays.
