Good food, good service, the decor is a little dated but it has a certain rustic farmhouse charm. Plates and cups need refreshing- as they are showing age and usage.
No complaints- has a club sandwich, seasoned fries (ask for seasoned!) while my companion had a cheeseburger, fries (unseasoned) and drink special for roughly $10. Total bill was about $32 + Tip for two people.
Verdict: Not bad! Worth returning to every so often when in the area!
Don’t let the outside parking lot deter you from giving this place a chance.

If I could give it 10 stars I would. The country fried steak is an actual piece of sirloin steak. No fat, fork tender and lightly battered and fried. Homemade pies and shakes. It’s just an old school home cooked country food restaurant. The only negative is I live in East Mesa and this place is in Goodyear, but definitely worth the drive. Oh and that homemade raisin bread in the photo comes with your meal.

My only regret in visiting TJ’s Homestyle Restaurant is not visiting it sooner. Great service from Nikki and an amazing breakfast. My family had everything from the giant cinnamon roll which was enough for four to share. The chilaquiles value breakfast was delicious, and featured a flavorful and spicy homemade chile sauce. Green chile shredded beef omelet was flavorful and a large portion. In the famous words of Arnold Schwarzenegger “Ill be back”.

It’s always a great experience here! I love the vintage style, good old fashion cafe. Nikky is always so much fun, but handles her business. The best service I ever had! She is not only our waitress, but is considered a friend. I highly recommend TJ’ for breakfast and lunch. I had the burger for breakfast LOL…why not. Angus beef, delicious

Our service is prompt and friendly; she knows upon seeing us where we sit and what to order..TJ’s wouldn’t be the same without her although the food speaks for itself…always fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. We have and always will be long time customers. I highly recommend TJs for anyone with a big appetite, friendly service, and they are always good for a laugh as you will see by the decor. You will smile coming in and leaving. A great way to start the day!!!! Good grub, good meat, good God let’s EAT!!!

11/10 FANTASTIC SERVICE AND FOOD. Maybe the best ham egg and cheese I’ve ever had. The ladies here do NOT play around. TJ Homestyle has been a place of comfort for years, one I’d always come to for that soul food breakfast, ya know…That’s when I lived closer, but ever since we moved out of the city, I haven’t been there since.
On Dec 5th, I dropped in, not really in the mood to be bothered by anyone. I just wanted to eat and be alone. Was having a pretty rough morning, just one of those days ya know. Anywho, I decided to treat myself to a quick quiet breakfast. Funny how life works. So I walked in Maria greets me at the door and immediately my mood switches. Her jubilant voice and smile lit up my heart… She has an east coast accent, one I’m very familiar with being a New Yorker myself lol She complimented my hair and looks, like she was so mesmerized, she made me blush. I can tell it was genuine admiration and respect. She even sat down and chit chatted with me for a bit. Her character really brought me out of my funk.
She took my order. I just wanted a simple dish with eggs, green peppers & slices of avocado… with a warm sugary crystal muffin on the side… The food although so simple, was impeccably delicious and so warm. I savored every bite

Although she had other tables, she made sure to come by mine often for refills and to check up on me. I was so grateful walking in there that day and being greeted by such a kindred spirit. I always tip, but when someone goes above and beyond for me, I’m going above and beyond for you in return.
Thank you TJ Homestyle for such amazing food and thank you for your hospitality. You have a good judgment of character, for your employees are an extension of your company and it definitely shows. I don’t care how far away, I’ll always come back for another delicious bite!
