The two male bartenders on one side of the restaurant were great. However, the blonde female bartender on the other side was absolutely horrible. My friends and I sat at the bar for thirty minutes trying to order a drink and never got asked if we would like anything. We soon realized how she would prioritize the men trying to order and just skip over our group entirely. Somehow my friend managed to get her attention at some point and asked for a water. The bartender then snarkily replied telling my friend to serve herself and pointed at a pitcher of water in the corner that was out in the open for anyone to touch or do god only knows what. After that comment we left.

TJs is unequivocally the best sports bar/restaurant on the Seacoast. Great staff, great atmosphere, delicious food and they literally bend over backward to accommodate our requests for obscure games. I’ve been going there for 15 years, and they continue to set the bar for service. Love these guys.

Neighborhood bar w/ eats. Somewhat limited menu, but very good food. Brought a big group with us for a celebration, and we were well taken care of. Even played a lot of arcade basketball.

At 6 minutes to close a women came into the ladies restroom and screamed at everyone that we had to leave immediately. When we said we were waiting to use the restroom she said “that’s not my problem get out.” She then left when we said we aren’t going to do that and screamed at our friends waiting for us at the door. They said they are waiting for their friend in the bathroom, and she yelled at them that their friend will find them eventually, and to get out immediately. she yelled “I’m asking you nicely” so loud I could hear it in the bathroom. This was still 2 minutes before closing. This was super unprofessional to treat customers who spent money there, tipped well, and were outside before closing. This lady is losing you all business. We have been coming here for a long time and have never been treated like this before.

Bottom line, don’t go hear if you are not a local. They really don’t want you there and have signs all over the restaurant letting you know. The bartender doesn’t wait on you to the same as extent as locals. Not friendly. Food was ok.

If you’re a local, you might want to go. Definitely a place where everyone knows everyone

If I recall accurately, this was called “The Honey Bee” back in the 1960’s. Very popular place for the crew of USS Sea Robin when we were in Portsmouth. One of our crew married a waitress there, Terri.

I recently threw my husband a surprise party at TJs, in their semi-private room with the huge bar. My experience was nothing less than a 5-star review. Bethany and her team were diligent, helpful, kind, hard-working, accommodating and enthusiastic to work with. They did not miss a BEAT and were incredibly respectful to my entire family and all of our guests. Mike our bartender for the evening, was professional, and PERFECT for the event we were hosting. The food was delicious, the drinks were large and the party was a BLAST. It will be a place we continue to go to as often as possible just so we can relive such an outstanding night.

Tjs is the most underrated spot in Portsmouth if you’re looking for a casual spot. The staff always remembers me, they’re friendly and the service is fast. You’re never stuck waiting for a drink or trying to get the bartender’s attention. I can come with my friends or my parents, it’s cool either way. Sunday’s are great for football, too. They always have the sound on the game, and everyone is cheering. Oh, and check the chalkboard for specials when you’re their, they have so many different things every week and they’re always delicious. It’s literally one of the last low key spots that you can come get a good bite to eat and beer and NOT spend a ton of money.

An affordable gem in Portsmouth. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Although the menu is not extensive, it is creative. Be sure to try the Cheese steak egg rolls! This place does tend to get loud and crowded during sporting events and later in the night, but the early evening is fantastic: friendly and quick service, good choice of beer and drinks, and great food.

Stopped in yesterday and had a great time. The mustachioed bartender is attentive, kind, and pours a great drink. Because of him, our girlfriend and I had a fantastic time there, and when we visit again, this will be the first place we go to.
