A good spot to bring your loved one or friends out for dinner or hibachi. The food is good! Service is good but you’ll be in the bar area for a while if you’re waiting for drinks. I would recommend to have an appointment set and expect to spend 1-2 hours here.

Fellow food fanatics, adventurers, and lovers of life, lend me your ears—or better yet, your appetites! I’ve scoured the highways and byways of most of the United States and ventured into the vibrant street markets of Thailand, chasing flavors that ignite the soul. But nothing—nothing—prepared me for the sheer exhilaration of TJ Sushi and Steakhouse in Wisconsin, where the hibachi grill is wielded by a culinary rockstar named Hapi. Buckle up, because this isn’t just dinner—it’s a front-row seat to a flavor-packed spectacle!

Hapi doesn’t just cook; he performs with the flair of a circus ringmaster and the precision of a sushi samurai. The moment those flames leap skyward, you’re hooked—knives spinning, flames roaring, and shrimp tails flipping through the air like tiny acrobats. His grin is contagious, his energy boundless, and his personality? A supernova of charm that could brighten even the gloomiest Wisconsin winter day. I’ve savored hibachi from coast to coast and grilled delights in Thailand’s bustling night markets, but Hapi’s showmanship is in a league of its own. When I asked to capture his magic on video, he beamed that million-dollar smile and said, “Of course!”—though let me tell you, no screen can fully convey the electric vibe of being there live.

Then there’s the food—oh, the food! Hapi’s creations are a love letter to your taste buds: steaks seared to juicy perfection, seafood so fresh it practically winks at you, and veggies that pop with flavor like a fireworks finale. It’s a feast that could unite foodies from Milwaukee to Bangkok in a chorus of “Wow!” Whether you’re gathered around the hibachi grill, mesmerized by Hapi’s antics, or kicking back at a table with your takeout, every bite is a masterpiece.

The vibe at TJ Sushi and Steakhouse is pure joy—an irresistible mix of Hapi’s laughter, the sizzle of the grill, and a staff so friendly you’ll feel like you’ve been adopted into the family. The service? Flawless. The atmosphere? Unbeatable. This is the spot for every occasion—birthdays, anniversaries, or just a random night when you crave something extraordinary. I’ve seen the ripple effect of my first visit: word’s spreading fast, and folks are flocking to this Wisconsin treasure in droves. And why not? It’s a culinary carnival starring Hapi, the hibachi hero who’s turning TJ’s into a destination.

So, whether you’re a local or a traveler passing through, heed my call: rally your crew, bring your hunger, and dive into the magic of TJ Sushi and Steakhouse. Hapi and his team will leave you grinning, stuffed, and plotting your next visit. This isn’t just a meal—it’s a memory, a masterpiece, a must. Five stars? Please—this place deserves a constellation!

Updating this morning… When we first arrived there was no one to seat us so we stood around for several minutes And even the cook was looking at us. We finally seated ourselves when the waiter did show up he told us to move with no apology. He was very direct and matter of fact.
We complied with understanding…
I ordered the mango chicken and out of three out of five for spiciness. I ordered a three. It was definitely a five.
The waiter did not have much charisma at all. He was very direct and rude to us while we ordered. He was definitely in a very foul mood and did not set the tone right we struggled to not take it personally.
After serving us he didn’t even come back and ask us how was the food either…
How can this restaurant have staff like this?
I cannot recommend this place… part of the experience of going out is having a good server who cares for you this is not the place. I honestly believe he made my meal more spicy than it should have.
We did however have an appetizer which was fantastic. It was a chicken satay!
Other than that there are other Asian restaurants here in the area that I will go to in the future.
Definitely not here… totally unacceptable.
I started writing this review in front of the server when he gave me the check he knew what I was writing and I did not leave him a tip.
If the owner of this restaurant responds to this review we may come back if they do not respond you can rest assured they care not for their customers.
My mango chicken was so hot that my nose is still runny… Just awful.

I ordered sushi for pickup the first time since COVID. I have to say their sushi is always good. Will be back when they open their restaurant for dine in.

We returned and had a dinner. The menu is online. There is QR code on the table where you can scan to load the menu using your phone. Sushi was good. Food came out quickly. We enjoyed our dinner.

First time eating there. They were short handed and didn’t have the hibachi open. They claimed that if you ordered hibachi it would be cooked that way in the back. My rice was not cooked on the hibachi and makes me wonder how the rest of my meal was cooked. The rice was also a little hard for fried rice. And I’ve always got yum yum sauce at every hibachi I have ever went to…not here. I will maybe try them again if the hibachi ever opens again. But otherwise I was not overly impressed with my meal.
My husband enjoyed his meal.

I loved everything about this place! My rolls were unbelievably good (and for a price you couldn’t even make them for at home). The server was professional and attentive. I think this is my new favorite place to grab sushi in the Fox Cities! Thank you to the TJ’s team for working so hard in a time when owning a restaurant is almost impossible. Delicious!

Ordered their chicken pad Thai through door dash and I had a chuck of Saran Wrap in my food that I almost choked on while eating. I won’t order/eat from here again. Food didn’t even taste fresh.

I have been coming to TJ’s for years. Since covid shutdown I typically order carry out which has improved a lot. Used to be long unpredictable wait times, but the last time I ordered it was ready right when they stated. This time we ate in the sushi area. It was right at open on a Saturday. It was quiet, and our food came quickly. My tai egg roll was not hot all the way through, but everything was wonderful. They often have staffing issues, but today it seemed to be adequately staffed for the guests and orders.
