Titus Bakery in Lebanon, Indiana, is an absolute must-stop whenever we’re heading south on I-65. We make it a point to stop here every time because, simply put, it’s one of the best bakeries around. Their selection of donuts is incredible—everything is super fresh, and they have some really unique options you don’t see everywhere. One of my all-time favorites is the Pershing, and every time I have one, I’m reminded why we keep coming back. They also have a couple of other donuts, like the Honey Barn and the fried danish that I haven’t seen anywhere else, and they’re worth trying if you’re looking for something different.
Beyond the donuts, they also make fantastic sandwiches using Boar’s Head meats, which is a huge plus. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite for the road or want something more substantial, their sandwiches hit the spot. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve.
On top of the great food, the staff here is exceptionally friendly and helpful—it really adds to the experience. You walk in, and you just feel welcomed. Whether it’s your first time visiting or you’re a regular, they treat everyone like family. Between the great service, the fresh and unique donut selection, and the quality of their sandwiches, Titus Bakery is hands-down one of the best stops along I-65. If you’re passing through Lebanon, don’t miss it—you’ll thank yourself later.
First impressions? Cute place, and the smell—oh man, the smell. Like walking into a warm hug from a bakery. The donuts looked incredible, but I had to make some tough life choices. Pastries or bourbon? Pasta or steak? You get it. Priorities.
We went for a half-sandwich and a cup of soup. The soup was a potato-bacon situation—good flavor, plenty of diced potatoes, and thankfully not thickened with a ton of flour or starch. But wow, was it salty. And listen, I love salt. I practically season my food like I’m warding off evil spirits. But even I had to take a pause.
For sandwiches, I got the Hoagie, and my husband went with the Moovelus. Both were… fine. Just fine. The bread was so dry it could’ve doubled as a sponge, even with mayo. Lettuce was hanging on for dear life. Flavor? Meh.
Bottom line: Go for the pastries. And if you do, tell me what I missed out on!
However, the staff member who took our order was not friendly at all. When I tried to ask questions about the tea, all she did was stare at me. We did not even get a “good morning” or “have a nice day”. She barely said anything at all and looked like she didn’t want to be there.
Hopefully they were just having a bad day. We will be back again.
The array of pastries and treats they offer is simply unparalleled. Each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures, a testament to the skill and dedication of their talented bakers. The croissants were perfectly flaky, the donuts were delightfully fluffy, and the artisanal breads boasted a crust that crackled with every satisfying bite.
What truly sets Titus apart is not just their delectable creations, but also the warm and welcoming atmosphere they cultivate. The staff’s genuine passion for their craft was evident as they shared recommendations and engaged in delightful conversations about their creations. Their lattes are second to none. They put plenty of espresso in each latte for a reasonable price.
Furthermore, their commitment to using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients shines through in every morsel. It’s evident that they take pride in crafting not only delicious treats but also wholesome ones that you can feel good about indulging in. They sponsor local teams as well and (at some locations) they sell locally sourced honey.
Whether you’re a dedicated foodie or simply seeking a hearty breakfast, Titus is an absolute must-visit. I left the bakery with a satisfied palate, a full stomach, and a bag filled with treats that I couldn’t wait to share with friends and family. Without a doubt, Titus has earned its place as a gem in the world of bakeries, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to savor their delectable creations once again.
