You Already Know, This js the spot for Milanesas. Highly recommend the Neopalitian! They have a spicy & non spicy option. Always get the large one and save the rest for later. Its still tastes great reheated.

Finally made the trip to this institution since having their house submarine since the 1980’s. Fell in love with the ambience and the food filling and very tasty as always. Recommend this place for a good submarine in El Monte

Have been coming here for decades. Prices are up, quality is down. Not the same as when the parents were running the place. The “market” section is a misnomer. Not much to actually buy here … but the yerba mate prices were OK.
Empanadas are now $3.79 each, but not as good as they were just a couple of years ago — tinkering with the recipe to save a few pennies is never a good idea. We’ve stopped buying them here.
I make my own instead for about $1 each … after cooking the fillings, I can fold about 4 dozen an hour by myself and fry them up in about 30 minutes. (I get tapitas at Latimex in Chino for about $4.79/dozen)

Some people just like to complain. The quality and flavor is the same. Sometimes they sneak a different bread and make it different or have someone new or lazy who doesn’t cut the tomatoes properly. On this occasion my milanesa torta was perfect. No wait, no line and great level of service.

Update 8/16/24: Local legend that will get my business regardless just for nostalgia sake. My reviews will go from 4 to 5 based on service or freshness as they tend to make their best selling sandwich (milanesa) in bulk. The trick is getting there early, before noon or ordering a sandwich that requires fresh made. I’ve tried a few, like napolitana, carnitas, lomo or rib eye but I still prefer the classic beef milanesa. This trip, it was good enough and so was the service. I did discover a few new favorites, like the chicken milanesa and cheese empanada! Chicken milanesa was fresh made and delicious, but was light on the meat to bread ratio. GF really liked the chicken option! Cheese empanada was another great discovery and GF favorite. Anyway, this place will always have a place in my heart and hope to make some new discoveries soon!
Yum. A classic. Stopped by near closing time and the sandwich was nice a fresh! Loved every bite of my milanesa con jalapeño! Beef empanadas was a little off but tasty. Beef was a little “mushier” than I’m used too. Maybe a new grind. Anyway, will keep going back!

This butcher shop doubles as a small Argentine restaurant. The empanadas are fresh and flaky, and their sandwiches are excellent. It’s family-run and has a very welcoming vibe. Prices are good, and portions are big. Perfect for a casual, hearty lunch.
