We had an amazing lunch here!

The photos tell the complete story, so here is what we experienced in summary :

The beer were cold and satisfying.

The fish dishes had very fresh seafood and the portions weee huge!

The seafood boil again had huge portions and great quantity and quality of shrimp .

The All-in Sauce was a real killer. It is very very very hot. Beware!

Taylor was very attentive and gave us great suggestions!

Great ambience fit for Friday with friends

We will be back soon

Tried this place out on what is probably one of their busiest days… FAT TUESDAY! The place was hopping! When we arrived we were told the wait was 1.5 hours. We didn’t wait 4 minutes before two seats at the bar opened up amd we grabbed them. The staff was super friendly and although they were very busy they didn’t miss a beat. Everyone chipped in to make sure all the patrons were taken care of. Of course we ate crawfiah and it did not disappoint! It came out quick, hot and spicy… just like we ordered. They were slinging hurricanes and cold Abita beer Mardi Gras style! It was a wonderful experience and we will be back!

The customer service provided by the owner/server was deeply disappointing. Our appetizers were brought out one at a time, as though each item was being cooked and delivered individually, which immediately raised concerns about food handling and sanitation. The situation worsened when my husband received and finished his entire meal before mine was even brought out.

When my entrée finally arrived, it was delivered in what looked like a takeout “doggie bag,” and the owner/server offered the excuse that “our timing is a little off because we were trying to get your seasoning right”—a seasoning that is advertised as one of their standard flavors. The food was only slightly warm, and because she did not return to the table, I was unable to refuse it or address the issue directly.

As a business professional, I expect owners to demonstrate leadership, accountability, and consistent professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I did not catch her name, but I will not forget the poor service and lack of professionalism displayed during our visit.

The attached photo is what I came home and opened my doggie bag up to see! Absolutely disgusting!

Me and my boyfriend were looking for a good date night food spot! This was the perfect place! I am defiantly a seafood lover and the oysters were 10/10! Him on the other hand wanted something a little light so he opted for the Asian Carne Asada Wrap and it was absolutely amazing. Great atmosphere, good food, and cheap drinks! Would defiantly check out Tipsy Crawfish if you are in the area!

I recently dined here and was thoroughly disappointed. The grilled mahi-mahi was tiny—maybe 6 ounces if you’re lucky—over-charred, dry in spots, and not worth the price. It didn’t even come with sides; I had to pay extra for the rice and a couple of hush puppies, which made the skimpy portion feel like a total rip-off. The shrimp boil was no better: while the shrimp were plump and the tomato-based sauce with sausage was okay (though it needed more seasoning), they weren’t even properly deveined—still had poop in the tails, which is just gross and unacceptable. Overall, the food was mediocre at best, with poor value and sloppy preparation. Wouldn’t recommend or return.

Tipsy Crawfish is an awesome treat in McKinney! I wait until a restaurant demonstrates a trend of great service prior to writing reviews. I’ve been to this location at least 5 times and I’ve enjoyed each experience. Amelia was working the bar and provided excellent customer service! The noticed the owner being welcoming to all guests!! I will definitely be back!

I stopped by last night for the first time and sat at the bar. I met Brie who is their new bar manager and she was fantastic! She made some great drinks and also gave awesome service. I truly loved the energy she brought to my experience.

I had a seafood boil and WOW!! I was so impressed with the quality of the seafood – I struggle to find great seafood in this area. Their menu includes gluten free options and is also diverse with other options for non seafood lovers.

I live in the area and plan to make this my weekend spot! 10/10

If you’re craving bold Southern flavors and authentic Cajun comfort, Tipsy Crawfish in McKinney is a must-visit. This spot isn’t just another seafood joint – it’s a full-on Louisiana experience nestled right in the heart of Texas.

What sets Tipsy Crawfish apart is the passion behind the menu, cultivated by none other than Chef Eugene, a Louisiana native who brings deep roots and rich culinary tradition straight from the bayou. Every dish reflects his commitment to authenticity, making sure that every bite bursts with the true taste of Louisiana.

Let’s talk about the crawfish boils – the crown jewel of the menu. Perfectly seasoned and loaded with juicy, flavorful crawfish, corn, potatoes, and sausage, it’s a mouthwatering masterpiece that’ll transport you straight to a backyard boil in New Orleans. The seasoning is spot-on: spicy, savory, and deeply satisfying without overpowering the natural sweetness of the crawfish.

And don’t miss the boudin balls – crispy on the outside, rich and flavorful on the inside. These Southern delicacies are a must-order appetizer, packed with seasoned rice, pork, and just the right blend of spice. They’re the kind of snack that makes you close your eyes and savor every bite.

The atmosphere is just as impressive as the food. It’s lively, welcoming, and filled with that unmistakable Southern charm. Whether you’re coming with friends for a fun night out or just craving comfort food that tastes like home, Tipsy Crawfish wraps you in warmth, flavor, and good vibes.

In short, Tipsy Crawfish is more than just a meal – it’s a culinary journey to the heart of Louisiana. Chef Eugene has masterfully created a menu that honors his roots and delights the senses, making this one of McKinney’s most flavorful gems.

If you’re looking for a true taste of Louisiana in the heart of McKinney, you’ve just found it.

Had dinner last night with my husband, and it was a wonderful experience. Loved the laid-back atmosphere, the drinks during happy hour were great- well drink of vodka and soda was only $3- and the food was delicious. I had the mahi mahi that was perfectly cooked with the close to the bayou on top, and my husband had a seafood boil of a bardi cluster with a pound of shrimp and a pound of crawfish. I was told it was still early in the season so I knew the crawfish would not be huge, but the flavor is totally there, spicy with lots of seasoning. We fly in regularly for work so we will be back next time we are in town.

I have visited this restaurant four times, and I live an hour away, so that should tell you how excited I was about this place. As a big crawfish lover, the name alone drew me in.

My first visit was during peak crawfish season, and it was excellent. The flavor was great, and even though the crawfish were on the smaller side, they were cooked perfectly. That experience made me want to keep coming back.

Unfortunately, my recent visits have been very disappointing. The crawfish have been MUSHY and OVERCOOKED, which completely ruins the texture and experience. I kept giving the restaurant another chance because I hoped it would be like my first visit again but last night was the final straw.

It’s really disappointing because I wanted this to be my go-to crawfish spot. I love supporting restaurants and returning to places I enjoy, but consistency matters.

PLEASE ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITH THE CRAWFISH Right now, whoever is cooking them is overcooking them, and it’s hurting the experience for customers who truly love crawfish.
