We ordered Tom yum soup vegetarian, Mango vegetable curry, and spicy basil Chicken.
It was a quiet afternoon weekday.
The food arrived after a while and we tried the soup first. It tasted great. Later the curry and rice. The mango curry looked yummy but it was extremely salty and lacked any sweetness from the coconut milk. After trying it couple of times and adding some sugar from top, the taste didn’t change. Asked the owner to remake the same as it was not edible. The owner came bavk with a new bowl after some time. There was hardly any change in the taste.
Similar feeling for the basil chicken. It was overly salted. I was still able to eat the chicken as it was dry and mixing it with more white rice reduced the salty effect a bit.
As we were getting late we just finished it and started driving to our destination.
Overall the food taste was disappointing for us.
So, I am down in California helping a friend move, and as a treat, we decided to get a Togo order of Thai. The reviews for this place were amazing, and we had high hopes… We ordered the Pad Kee Mow, one with shrimp and one with tofu, Now, where I’m from we have local Thai restaurants that are incredibly tasty and not afraid of spice.. Tipp Thai offered heat levels from 3 star to 10. So we both ordered 7, because we are not afraid of heat. When my friend got home from picking up the grub, we started in on the Pad Kee Mow dish.. Man…. I’ve never been more disappointed… the heat was absolutely there, no question… but maybe I should have asked for them to leave the actual spices in the dish.. Those typical spices that are usually in this delightful dish were NOWHERE to be found.. This was sooooo disappointing !!!
Heat yes.. Spice and flavour?? Absolutely NOT….
We also ordered the fresh salad rolls ..
The fella who cashed my friend out and also took the order stated that the salad rolls didn’t come with Peanut sauce as they usually do in every Thai restaurant I’ve EVER been too.. and Unfortunately, the salad roll were also bland, and missing flavour .. They tasted like had arugula in it.. Granted I really do like arugula in specific dishes or salads… but damn…
Needless to say, we couldn’t eat them.. They were gross…. And no peanut sauce..
I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.
Don’t always judge a book by its cover.
The food was freshly made to order that bursted into the fabulous flavors of Thailand! Service was very kind and welcoming. Will definitely return…..
