Good Venezuelan food in Las Vegas is hard to find, but I never gave up hope . Well, to my surprise, hidden in the corner of Rainbow and Charleston, I discovered what it is by far the best Venezuelan restaurant in Las Vegas. Beautifully decorated, clean, and pleasant atmosphere awaits you at Tio Simon. Named after a famous Venezuelan folk singer, Tio Simon is an open door into the wonderful Vzlan culture, the food the music, the people that you can’t experience anywhere else. We were welcomed with a Hola! Bienvenidos! From the hostess who immediately found a seat for us. After glancing at the vast menu, we chose the the Tequeños as appetizers and two Arepas and cachapas as the main course. These were not your regular Arepas and Cachapas. They are so tasty and so stuffed that we had to use utensils to eat them. The Agua panela was refreshing, and for dessert, we had the quesilllo. Everything was excellent, and this place is worth the drive. Believe me, you will be pleasantly surprised.

The caldo was amazing. It brought me back to life after a long night on the strip. The service was great. The owner checked up on us a few times while we were eating. I would recommend this to anybody visiting vegas.
Thank you Tio Simon

Came here with friends who recommended this spot. To what I understand, Tio Simon used to be Arepas which I loved Arepas on Las Vegas Blvd so I was really excited.

We were a party of 5 and they did get busy and thank God we were already seated and ordered our food.

Food:
Chicken Empanada
Beef Arepas

My friend ordered a couple of appetizers but I forgot what it was called but I’ll upload the pix. It was good.

The Empanada was delicious. I loved the texture and the chicken was flavorful. The Arepas was okay alone. But when you add the sauce it elevated and tasted so much better. The sauces were a green, spicy and another that is like an aioli.

Now the negative. Service was horrible. 4 out of 5 of us got our food and the main person who we were celebrating did not get her food. We were already done and she finally got her order. I had to ask a couple of times for a cup of ice. I haven’t drank can soda in a long time but it was $4.14. I was like WOW but ok.

Overall, I’d still return because the food was delicious. The server just needs help. Im thinking she did not put my friends order in. I was Happy to see a guy walking around asking how’s everything. We told him our friend didn’t get her food and he asked the kitchen about it.

OMG! The food here was absolutely delicious—words can’t do it justice. If you’re looking for a great choice, this is the place, not to mention the food is cooked over an open flame.

I’ve been living in the United States for more than 25 years, and during that time I’ve made it a personal mission to seek out authentic Venezuelan cuisine across the East Coast—New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Virginia Beach, Richmond, Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami. I’ve dined at some of the most well-known spots, from the famous Caracas Arepa Bar in NYC (even recommended by Bobby Flay), to the iconic ArepaZone in Washington DC, and many respected restaurants in El Doral.

Yet, Tío Simón Venezuelan Cuisine stands in a class of its own.

By far, this is one of the most delightful, authentic, and soul-satisfying Venezuelan food experiences I have ever had. Every bite carries the true essence of Venezuela—rich, honest flavors that awaken memories and stir the heart.

Simón and his incredible team, proudly from the Venezuelan Andes, are warm, courteous, and genuinely welcoming. Their knowledge, hospitality, and love for their culture are felt from the moment you walk in.

We enjoyed tequeños, beef and chicken empanadas, sopa de costilla, cachapas, arepa cabimera, and a perfectly refreshing guarapo de papelón con limón—each dish prepared with care, tradition, and unmistakable authenticity.

Tío Simón is not just a restaurant—it is a little piece of Venezuela in the heart of Las Vegas. ❤️

Highly recommended.

Awesome food! The girl helping us was also great! It would be a 5 star but the prices were pretty high ($10 for an arepa) and a couple came in that appeared to be friends with the owner or manager and the girl was coughing non stop, when she noticed us looking at her she ramped it up and whispered something to her partner, he then started coughing and gave us a dirty look as he walked by. They continued to cough until we started to leave and as we were walking out they both started coughing a bunch and gave my wife a dirty look ( my wife had a mask on because shes immune compromised ) Pretty disgusting to be honest and the friend/owner should have told them to maybe sit outside if sick. The food was great but the experience made me not want to return and that’s too bad. Additional photos located on my profile page

The food was excellent! I’m not a Venezuelan, but I’ve had excellent arepas before. I was excited to find this place. Being back in the US, I wouldn’t have access to my favorite arepas again, but these were even better! We didn’t know quite what to order but ended up getting criollos arepa and my husband a papiado pepitos. He couldn’t finish the sandwich it was so big. We’re looking forward to going back so we can try more items off the menu. Thank you for the authentic, delicious meal!

I had the chance to take my in-laws to try Venezuelan food for the first time and it couldn’t have gone any better! We all love how authentic the food was, the service was top notch and the atmosphere was very venezuelan. It really gives you the venezuelan experience. We got to meet the owners and learn more about their wonderful story. I’ll definitely come back before I leave Vegas!
