When we walked in it took several minutes for someone to acknowledge us and seat us. Not a great start but not a major issue. Once we were sat out drink order was taken. My wife really enjoyed her frozen margarita. Chips were freshly made and the green salsa was flavorful and quite good. The red salsa was ok but not great.
Wife ordered the enchiladas suisas and I ordered the chicken fajita chimichanga. The food took 30+ minutes to arrive after we placed the order. They did bring us refills on chips and salsa and my sweet tea during the wait. When the food did arrive my wife’s was definitely hot and fresh. Mine had clearly been sitting for a bit. It was warm but definitely not hot. Wife enjoyed her food and mine was good as well. Service throughout was attentive and friendly. Several different waitstaff checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed.
The other thing that was unusual was the choice of music. Just not what we expected to hear in a Tex-Mex restaurant. Bon Jovi and such. Not bad, just not what we expected. Other Tex-Mex places generally play Latin music and I guess that’s just kind of what we expected. Personal preference for sure, would just rather have Como La Flor, El Rey, Cielito Lindo, etc on in the background.
Definitely not a bad meal, prices were pretty much inline with other similar spots. We’ll probably give it one more try.
What really separates them is consistency. Drinks come out right, food hits the table hot, and no one disappears when you need something. The staff clearly knows the menu and doesn’t fake it — if they recommend something, it lands. That tells me there’s real training behind the scenes, not just bodies filling aprons. It’s obvious they care about the guest experience instead of just turning tables.
Bottom line: Tío Chuchos understands that good service isn’t about being fake-friendly — it’s about competence, timing, and respect. They execute all three. If other spots are wondering why customers don’t come back, they should take notes. This is how you run a floor without embarrassing yourself.
I ordered 2 crispy beef tacos. They were very good with lots of ground beef on each taco.
The wife ordered a Strawberry Margarita and I ordered a Dos Equis Michelada. Both drinks were excellent and the prices are very reasonable.
The servers are excellent and the overall atmosphere is outstanding.
The dining room and restrooms are very clean and sanitized.
