Views are just as immaculate as the coffee
The barista was very passionate and took making the perfect coffee seriously. Would definitely be my regular spot if I lived in Chicago
1. Food and drink was expensive but good for the vibe they had. Especially if you go with group of people.
2. Lots of tables for multiple number of groups. But quickly fill on weekends and even on certain weekdays too.
3. Great service and cocktails are really good. I had “Signature Tapp Subourbon” drink and tastes good. Whiskey sour is good too.
The food was OK, the beer was good. The vibe and the service was excellent in the end. I believe that the kitchen was probably overwhelmed on a Friday afternoon with Temps in the 80’s and the orders were hard to maintain. An unforgettable trip (from Houston) could have been an unpleasant experience, but the staff saved the day. I LOVE Chicago.
I ordered an iced chai tea latte, which was delicious. It’s made with Tazo chai mix and they had dairy-free options, which I really appreciated. Between the drinks, the view, and the overall vibe, this place was just so much fun. Definitely planning on going back!
Tiny offers both a cafe for coffee and pastries, as well as a full bar for later in the day.
I ordered my usual, cappuccino in a mug, a bit dry. Despite the fantastic waterfront, the cappuccino left much to be desired.
If you’ve followed my cappuccino reviews, you will know I am not a fan of the “to go” experience. Nor am I fond of the “cappuccino button” school of Baristas. Per this rubric Tiny Cafe started with two strikes against them.
The cappuccino itself left much if not all to be desired.
You will find lines and crowds most operating hours at Tiny. I’d venture to say these people are coming for the views, not the cappuccino. Who can blame them. Chicago is beautiful in Fall.
Enjoy
We sat right next to the band, which did a fantastic job!! Made us feel like we were in the VIP section… lol My husband is still talking about the experience! The spicy chicken wings and parmesan garlic waffle fries were our favorites!! We will definitely be back!!
Really good frozen drinks on the menu. I tried two different types. For food l enjoyed the chicken czar flatbread, very flavorful. My friend ordered the chicken czar salad and we shared an order of garlic parmesan tapp fries that came with a garlic aioli which we did not use.
Beautiful mixed crowd of high energy people embracing waterfront entertainment. There were parades of birds, kayaks, small boats and yachts.
We were also treated to a live performance from sultry songtress Meagan McNeal. She came with a live band and brought along a few friends who also entertained us with songs.
It was absolutely beautiful.
Meagan will be performing July 15th at City Winery on Randolph if interested.
