I chose this place due to its proximity to the hospital and its ratings (also didnt want to get too far into Halloween traffic).
We ordered 2 burgers which were said to be very good (I didnt try them).
The Buffalo fingers were ordered in place of them not having egg rolls but they were your run of the mill fingers. Seemed previously frozen but that’s most places so no points deducted from my opinion (blue cheese was good compared to other places).
Next were the ribs. I dont know how they make these, I didnt see a smoker out back because I had to park on the side street to pick up my order, but they were amazing. Flavor was on point. They fell right off the bone. Not too sloppy and I just wish I had ordered more of them. These were the best thing we ate!
I ordered Mac and cheese with a side of steak tips (for my son). Tips were tasty and cooked perfectly. Mac and cheese was juat elbow pasta, not sure if it was processed cheese or not, but it had Ritz crackers on top which seemed effortless on a meal that could easily use bread crumbs or something to elevate it more. It did have a smoky taste to the dish which I liked (and someone ate my left overs so I was bummed out). It was a homey dish and while it may not have been from scratch id order it again.
Onion rings on a burger side were just the way I like them. Fat breaded and perfectly cooked.
Curly fries were for my son but he was too tired to eat them and nobody tried them.
Overall the wait to pick up was 45 minutes. It was dark inside so it seemed like a hole in the wall establishment but with pretty decent food! I would definitely get food here again!
I only wish they had dessert!
We were 4 and we shared:
-Buffalo chicken nuggets (just ok, good enough)
-Mac&cheese: we liked it, but not as good as the steak tips and ribs.
– Steak tips with curly fries (both delicious)
– BBQ baby back ribs (awesome)
Now that I am celiac, I can’t enjoy most of the menu. There is not a dedicated fryer and the griddle is a source for cross contamination. That being said, I appreciated the steps the server took to discuss items with the kitchen and verify which items were safe. Lickily the steaktips were! I enjoyed them “whistle style” over rice pilaf. It was delicious and a generous portion, which my husband was happy to take for lunch the following day.
The quality of the food is consistent, which I appreciate. There is also a nice patio out back,s o you can enjoy the food and the fine weather.
