A True Taste of the Windward Side
If you’re a tourist looking for a genuine local diner experience, or a Windward resident craving great food, great prices, and warm island hospitality, look no further than Times Coffee Shop.

The place has a cool vibe, thanks to the Fijian/Chinese owners. You’ll see all sorts of interesting Fiji wooden masks and axes mixed in with retro Hawaiian posters. It really gives the place a unique, homey feel.
This was my second visit, and I decided to try the corned beef because I heard they make it in-house. While I wanted to love it, as someone who grew up on the canned stuff, this version just wasn’t for me. It was a little bland and didn’t have that classic corned beef hash flavor I was hoping for.

But the rest of the plate more than made up for it! The salad was so fresh, the toast was grilled to perfection, and the home fries were perfectly crisped. The sunny-side-up egg was also cooked just right. It was a delicious meal overall.

Next time, I’m definitely getting the French toast, bacon, and eggs. I saw a plate go by and it looked absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to go back!

I told my wife, find a local mom and pop diner on the east shore. Times Coffee Shop was amazing. Their fried rice was stupid good. Service was great. Definitely a great place for food. The sweet bread French Toast was really good too! Thanks for a great breakfast!

When 4.5 Stars Feels Like 2… Being Generous

If you’re in the area looking for breakfast and thinking, “Hey, Times Coffee Shop has a 4.5-star rating, it must be good!” — do yourself a favor and keep looking.

The bathroom alone deserved its own horror movie — mold everywhere, like it was auditioning for a Swamp Thing reboot.

We ordered a scramble with fried rice and banana blueberry pancakes, which sounded great and hard to screw up, but somehow tasted like regret and cafeteria sadness.

Two simple requests for our waitress? Ghosted — forgotten like last year’s New Year’s resolutions.

At $50, you’d think we were getting a meal cooked by someone who at least likes food, but nope — it was a masterclass in disappointment. We left not satisfied, but resentfully full, like we had just been force-fed mediocrity.

Giving it two stars because (1) the chairs had four legs and (2) we didn’t get food poisoning… but it felt like a close call.

The food was great. The service is outstanding. The lady who assisted us is so kind. The coffee was so good, it was the vanilla macadamia nut flavored coffee. A good place for food around the area.

We’re 60+ years old visiting Oahu. We decided on this restaurant because of the diner-like atmosphere. The food was delicious. Veg Omelette and Mushroom Omelette. With no salt added, my veg omelette was very, very good. We don’t write reviews but this place has a kitchen staff that knows what they’re doing. Highly recommend.

I have been going to Times for over 25 years and I have loved it. Went 2 weeks ago and I may never go back. Ordered the usual fried rice for lunch. It arrived and it tasted like someone had dumped a cup of sugar in it. I asked the server and she said we have two types one sweet. No offer to fix it, Did not ask when we ordered, not mentioned on menu. I guess it is their way of saying haoles no longer welcome…

I liked the local vibe cafe. Kona coffe was really good with butter toast. I ordered 1 roast pork moco and asked to split it. The portion was like two meals. I felt fully charged before going on an adventure. I reccomend this cafe.
