TLDR; Went out for a birthday dinner and got a raw burger and a chemical flavored turkey sandwich.
My family and I don’t go out to eat that much but the Timber has been on our rotation since the new owners took over. We loved their burgers and other meals, so much so that we would recommend it to anyone who asked about local food. This changed today.
My wife wanted to take me out for my birthday, as we had a couple hours without the kids. Being close to home we picked the Timber. We ordered an appetizer (which was pretty decent actually), a couple drinks, a hot turkey sandwich and a burger, medium done. My wife’s sandwich was literally inedible (the meat had some sort of chemical taste to it) and my burger was raw on the inside. We mentioned it to the server (who was quite nice and seemed to care) but she came back and told us that the owner said “it was cooked right” and we would be charged for everything. I was very frustrated but it wasn’t the waitress’s fault.
We ended up paying $75 for a couple drinks and an appetizer. As I stated to the waitress, the new owner can pound salt. I will never set foot in this place again.
This used to be my favorite place to eat, now I gag thinking about it.

My fiancé & I came here for date night. Came from 30 minutes away because we’ve heard such good things about this place. It was 100% worth it. The service is seriously fantastic. Hannah was our waitress, so so kind. I’m not sure who sat us, but she was also very kind. Food was delicious. 1,000% recommend the Mac n cheese!! Our burgers were delish! Definitely coming back & making sure to bring other people!

Hadn’t been here in a month or so. A friend & myself stopped in. My friend order a BLT & I got a Swiss Mushroom Burger. Both came with fries. I asked for medium rare to rare and the waitress said that was fine. But it came as medium well or well done. Since I ordered waffle fries & was not told they were $1 more(which was not a big deal) The burger was tasty and big. Just wish it had been rare like I asked. If they couldn’t do it, I would have requested something else. I didn’t say anything to the waitress as its the cooks fault. All in all the food is good & we will be back, but no burger.

We decided to try a different place for “date” night so the Timber Tavern was it. We were greeted by Sarah who ended up being our server. She was a delight and always had a smile on her face. Great job Sarah! The food was delicious and not a long wait. We will go back!

Amazing food, and an even better atmosphere! We drive 30 minutes out of our way just to come to Timber Tavern! Waitstaff is always friendly, and specials are always different. I recommend the apple jack burger! Hands down the best restaurant in the north country!

We reserved this place for a formal dinner with a party of 60 people. Decent prices 45$ per person for appetizers and dinner.
Dinner consisted of a large steak with mashed potatoes and bacon Brussel sprouts. It was very tasty and made for great leftovers.
The bar had good drinks and fast service.
Would recommend this place again.

Atmosphere was really nice and the food looked great. We were really excited to have a good meal. I ordered one of their specialty burger but when it came out it was missing the main “special” topping. I asked why it wasn’t on it and the waitress said “oh they ran out.” Would’ve been nice to know before I got it. So my $17 specialty burger ended up just being a plain Jane cheeseburger. It was good but disappointing. On top of that, they didn’t ask us if our food was good or if we ever needed a refill. I was very courteous about their mistake too. So messed up food, poor service, when there was a ton of staff, and they didn’t even hint about fixing it or taking $$ off the bill. We just paid our bill and left disappointed. .
To add to your response… maybe you didn’t read my entire review. I ordered a “specialty” burger and the main ingredient didn’t come on it. No one even said anything. I had to ask why it wasn’t on there. Then I was offered raw uncooked onions to fix it. The 1 star came from a combination of a screwed up order, bad service, and now your poor attitude makes me wish I did 0 stars. We would’ve had fun if someone asked us if we needed a refill at least once but even that didnt happen.

Went there about a week ago for the first time. food took almost hr to get..my appetizer (irish nachos i think they were called) was massive more like a meal but sooo good. For meal I got the turkey sandwich wasn’t really for me. Husband got hot wings which were more mild..service was ok…had to ask another waitress for straw and napkins because didn’t see ours for a good 30m but will definitely go back.

Fantastic food and service. Enjoyable menu. Good beer selection. Rustic atmosphere. Good selection of burgers, wings and entrees. Ben, the owner and chef, occasionally comes out to greet the patrons and check on how people are enjoying their meals. Definitely a place to go to, as it’s a little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip.
