4:47PM Saturday 9/27/25, I ordered a Donut and a Cappucino on the mobile app for pickup.
5:00PM I walk in to pick up my order and am greeted by a “lady” who stares at me like i had recently murdered a family member, I asked for my order and was told ” The machine is on self clean, won’t be able to get you coffee for 30 minutes or more”, she didn’t even process the Donut part of the order. I asked to be refunded for the coffee and was told ” I don’t know how to do that” and then was given huge attitude because she was “called in” to that location and wasn’t even supposed to be there. Asked me how I paid, I told her and she said ” I don’t know how to do that” and started to walk away !!!
I asked if she was me would she just walk away and not receive the coffee or the refund and she said just brushed me off, then some young kid came out from the back with a smile and started to give me attitude, wondering why I wanted a refund and it wasn’t a big deal, I asked his name and he gave me two different names, clearly having fun with the situation but not actually trying to help, just came off as a young man from somewhat of a privileged background who didn’t really want to be there, then jumped on the counter on the back and sat…ON THE COUNTER just having a great time with the situation.
Then the woman magically “figured out how to issue a refund” but then argued with me about the amount as the amount on her register was different from the amount I had on my receipt ( it was more )
Honestly it was only about $5 but it’s not really the point. Tim Hortons franchisee, I hope you have cameras with audio so you can pull the interaction and coach the employees working at the time. I’m sure if they’re confronted they’ll say I was being rude, but I wasn’t and actually was very polite while being in disbelief of the situation and if you do have camera’s with Audio you’ll see the rudeness was coming from the employees.
I realize nowadays you have to scrape the barrel for employees anyway, but these two aren’t even in the bottom of the barrel..they’re the spillage underneath the barrel.
The words ” I’ll never go to Tim Horton’s again” are likely thrown about a lot, but I 100% mean this and would now happily just go to a Starbucks / Dunkin or somewhere else for Coffee and Donuts….there’s no lack of choice.
If you own this franchise, you might want to do some investigating as your employees are costing you money for sure.
2) They didn’t know they ran out of espresso before taking my order AND my money
3) Initially said they couldn’t refund me because they didn’t have a supervisor there (? how do you leave a store in any state in which refunds cannot be performed?); they did offer to give me anything I wanted which was decent.
4) About 2 minutes after I asked them to call someone for help they were able to give me the refund, which shows that they could have just called someone in the first place.
5) The refund wasn’t even in the correct amount.
