Tiki Taco – is part taco shop, part hangout, part bar, part neighborhood joint. We serve fresh, made from scratch, cooked to order food as the neighborhood taco shop. Tiki Taco is a fusion of traditional flavors of Mexico with So-Cal influences and hints of fusion tastes. We’re serious about our food, but don’t take ourselves too seriously. Each community plays a role in Tiki Taco’s success, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our neighborhoods every day. Tiki Taco is where positivity does not go out of style, it’s always a good day to have a good day”.

Reviews
Our biggest issue was the price relative to the food’s taste. Four of us ate there, and it topped at $60. I know that is just the day and age that we live in, where food prices are going higher and higher, but for that price, we were disappointed as a whole on the flavor. We ordered two KC Burritos (one carne asada and one chicken, both with half rice and fries), a Surf and Turf Burrito, and a special burritot had eggs in it), (I can’t recall the name, but i along with an order of chips and salsa.
The chips were tasty, but the salsa almost reminded me of tomato soup. It was quite smooth with just a bit of warmth to the flavor. A little salt helped with the chips, but overall, they were good. The KC Burritos were okay, but we all agreed that the lime rice was overpowering. The lime flavor in all the meals was too strong. We joked that we wouldn’t have scurvy after this meal.
The surf-and-turf burrito was more surf than turf. The shrimp were yummy, but there was hardly any steak. I don’t know if it had the correct amount of protein, but even in the first picture below, you could hardly see any steak (the shrimp I had taken out to cut into smaller bites). I opted for all rice and no fries, and maybe that’s why the lime flavoring was overwhelming in my own meal?
The overall consensus was that the food was okay but not amazing. If I were a drunk college student, I could imagine this hitting the spot, but as a family place to eat…not for us. The cost wasn’t equivalent to the satisfaction of the food. My son said there are competing places that sell make-your-own burritos that he would prefer to eat at because he could have more control (and more protein) for a similar, if not lower, price.
My husband put it best, that if someone invited him to go out to eat with them at Tiki Taco he would go but he wouldn’t go on his own accord. I think I would have to agree with that statement. Maybe we should try the tacos instead?
I’ll absolutely be back again (already have been, but shhhh). Thanks for a great experience Taya!
(1) Birria tacos are still good
(2) Spiciness is still spicy
(3) We took Meredith’s offer (which disappeared after I edited this review) for one Tiki Choco taco, and we bought a second tiki Choco taco. They were good. Sort of mild flavored to me, but my spouse says they were “really tasty”. (I’d have liked more chocolate or something crunchy mixed in with the ice cream)

Pros:
(1) Varied menu
(2) Ample seating space
(3) Good flavor (pretty much everything we had was spicy though)
Cons:
(1) We were each going to order a Tiki Choco Taco but they were out 🙁
Nice staff and average tacos, but a poor ordering system. Must register with their loyalty program in order to get Taco Tuesday pricing, or else you pay $4 or $5 per taco. Cold meat on some of our tacos, and unusually large chunks of fat on others.
Oh and for dessert we have cheese cake chimi!!!!
We met the owner and Liz took amazing care of us the bar!!!!
