A New Neighborhood Gem: 5 Stars!
If you’re looking for authentic flavors that pack a punch, look no further. I recently visited Taqueria Tikal and was absolutely blown away. From the vibrant atmosphere to the incredible service, this place is a total winner.
Here is the breakdown of the feast:
* The Pozole: The broth was rich, deeply seasoned, and had that perfect balance of spice and comfort. You can tell they take their time with the slow-cooked hominy.
* (Chicken & Carne Asada): The chicken taco was juicy and well-marinated—not dry at all! The carne asada was tender and smoky. Topped with the traditional crunch of fresh cilantro and onion.
* The Extras: Do not skip the pickled onions on the side. That bright, acidic pop cut through the richness of the meats perfectly.
* Tacos al Pastor: These were the “chef’s kiss” finale. The pork was expertly shaved with those crispy, caramelized edges and that signature sweet-and-savory pineapple vibe.
Make sure to load up on their house-made salsas—especially the spicy ones if you are into a good hot sauce.
