First of all — the restaurant? CLEAN. I’m talking “your mom is coming over unexpectedly” clean. Plenty of seating too. You could bring your cousins, your coworkers, your entire union local and still have room.
And here’s the crazy part… it was EMPTY.
This is my SECOND time coming here and both times it was empty. I genuinely don’t understand. Is there a secret club I don’t know about? Are people gatekeeping this place? Because the food does NOT match the lack of customers. This spot deserves a line out the door.
Part of me wants to keep it quiet so I can pull up anytime and feel like I own the place… but that would be selfish. The world deserves this flavor.
The waiter? Elite. 10/10. This awesome woman treated us like we were VIP taco investors. Friendly, attentive, made us feel welcome immediately.
Now let’s talk about these sauces because I was NOT emotionally prepared.
Every order comes with chips and TWO sauces.
The red sauce? I took one bold scoop thinking I was built different. I am not built different. That sauce had me hiccuping, sweating, reconsidering my spice tolerance… but I kept going back because it was THAT good. Pain with purpose.
The green sauce though??? Oh my goodness. Garlic. Cilantro. Perfect balance. Flavorful without trying to fight you. I would bottle that and put it on everything if society allowed it.
I ordered the birria tacos and lengua tacos (yes, cow tongue, yes I’m adventurous).
When I tell you these tacos were packed with flavor… I wish I was Gordon Ramsay so I could explain it properly. The meat tasted like it’s been marinating since the early 2000s. Deep. Rich. Tender. Seasoned like someone’s abuela would personally supervise it.
AND THE SIZE???
I’ve been to plenty of Mexican spots where the tacos are amazing but tiny. Like “blink and it’s gone” tiny. Not here. These tacos are LARGE. Stuffed. Packed with flavor. No skimping. No sadness.
I left full. Happy. Slightly sweating from the red sauce. And genuinely confused why this place isn’t packed.
Tijuana Tacos — I almost gatekept you. But you deserve the recognition. I will absolutely be back. Probably too soon.
We also had the fried fish which when it arrived was very large. It was so large that it actually wasn’t completely cooked through. We brought this to the attention of our server who promptly prepared a new entire plate of another fish along with fresh sides. The continued the amazing recovery by only charging half price for the fish as an apology.
Complimentary chips and salsa.
Desserts looked quite good although we didn’t have any.
I would not hesitate to return.
2. Waited 10 minutes for the waitress to even acknowledge we were there.
3. Waitress took our order. Didn’t take the kids drink orders. We had to flag her down for that.
4. Got 2 orders of tamales for an appetizer. One came out as an appetizer. The other came out with the meals about 10 minutes later.
5. Waited 20+ minutes for drinks. Drinks arrived about 5 minutes after the tamales did.
6. Ordered carnitas tacos. The pork was dry and tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge too long.
7. The 2nd order of tamales was cold.
8. Ordered chorizo tacos. The chorizo in the tacos was rubbery and dry.
Another table of people came in about 10 minutes after we got there. They waited a solid 15 minutes before the waitress paid them any mind. A 3rd table showed up 5-10 minutes after that and experienced the same.
Also worth mentioning. The only thing you could hear coming out of the kitchen was the nonstop beeping of the microwave.
It’s a shame. This place used to be awesome. I won’t go back.
We had Birria Taco, Pork Burrito, Chicken Enchilada with Mole…
Everything was delicious.
Service was great, thank you.
Go There.
