At Tijuana Flats in Mt Dora, we make our food to order using the freshest ingredients prepared the same day you enjoy them. Even our queso, guac and salsa are made from scratch every day. That’s just how we roll. At our Hot Bar, you’re the boss of the sauce. Add a hint of heat, a touch of sweet or douse your dish with a five-alarm fire. Our Hot Bar’s loaded with an assortment of tangy, smoky, sweet, and spicy sauces. Tijuana Flats’ entrées include burritos, burrito bowls, chimichangas, dos tacos, flautas, fresh salads, nachos, and quesadillas. We went to Tijuana Flats for lunch. The service was very quick and the food delicious. Try the “smack my… Sauce” and “Jason’s mom.” The “dictator” definitely is not a smiley face. Gabby was awesome – very attentive and running around helping everyone. Will be back!

Our first visit to this location, and it had a very chill-axed ambiance. We were surprised that it was not packed, but found out we snuck in right after the dinner crowed. Very clean with polite employees and awesome food. Each location is differently themed, but the friendly staff and delicious food is always the same. This is our 7th TF location we’ve been to, and we hope to eventually visit the remaining 130 in our great state of FL! #GOKNIGHTS!

Fast, friendly service! I enjoyed my Blackened Chicken Burrito with chips and share-size of chips/Salsa. Definitely get the 2 for $20 on Saturdays! It comes with 2 specific entrées, side and 2 drinks. Logan answered all my questions and provided excellent service! The staff is amazing here!

We have been here before and loved it. But maybe we should of not apparently walked in 40 mins before closing because when we walked in , the gentleman working didn’t greet us and was completely dry and rude and just annoyed at our presence. Then we were less than 5 seconds at the register trying to decide on our order and he said theres menus over there on the wall in such a nasty tone. He just seemed upset at having customers present. We said : “you know what ,we are leaving…have a goodnight. “ it was such disappointing customer service. I will make sure to never again visit this place at night . I will be calling management in the morning.

I arrive at 11:15 and ordered right away. The were out of Coke so I had sweet tea. The place was empty except for the server. I wait 30 minutes and still no food. It just came out. I let the server know it was the longest wit I have ever had at any Tijuana Flats. She dropped the food and said Sorry we just have trainees in the back. My tea was empty and we did not offer a refill. The queso was skimmed over and cold. The steak enchiladas were warm and tasted great. I was here almost an hour and no one ever checked my drink or followed up with me. Changed my Previous 5 star review to 3 to account for the worst experience at any Tijuana Flats.

Had a great experience and the food was awesome. The order taker had a great interaction with my 5 year old grandson. The server came by to check our order and came back to check our drinks and offered refills. Truly great Tijuana Flats experience. Upgrading the previous 4 star review.

Caveat emptor, fellow FlatHeads.
The food here tastes entirely different from what I’ve come to expect from TFlats over the years. The yellow queso was bland — I’ve NEVER experienced this at ANY TFlats. At the bare minimum, the queso is the one constant GREAT item on the menu.
The “blackened” chicken, at this location in particular, had ZERO taste. In fact, it tasted like diced frozen Costco chicken. Your blackened chicken bowl, megajuana has been my go to order for well over a decade so I know when it’s right and when it’s very wrong.
Unfortunately, in my case tonight, it was VERY WRONG.
The bowl I ordered was supposed to have HALF black beans, HALF pinto beans. It came out barely warm, with two heaping spoonfuls of each bean (which were abnormally runny – EW!) and not at all what I wanted.
I was also charged for two additional sides of pinto and black beans — which, again, was NOT what I ordered. Management took the extra sides off, which I appreciated but my plate still came out with them.
Even after adding a copious topper of Jason’s Mom’s Sauce *and* Mae Ploy, this bowl still had next to no taste. It was unacceptable.
A table of strangers seated next to me also had a huge issue with their meal. It was so bad, the father sent his entire meal back. “This happens every time we eat here,” he said. Yet he keeps coming back because he loves your brand – as do I.
Also, while the MOD was nice, I observed him being quite curt with the gentleman seated next to me. Which only exacerbated his situation. I simply ate what I could stomach in the restaurant, and threw the rest out. It wasn’t even worth taking to go, which I normally would.
This lack of quality (and lack of care of quality) is NOT what I expect from TFlats, and I hope it’s addressed at this Mt Dora location. I’ve never had a meal this tasteless or bad at a TFlats ever.
