Stopped at Tigers Burgers for a local bite and it did not disappoint. The lone worker was patient and completed our order as desired. When you step in, you will walk on a mostly worn penny floor with some quarters mixed in, retro bar stools with red cushion that line a counter top made of three 2x4s. A sign in the bathroom reads: “Employees must wash hands every 30 minutes.” A good amount of dust could be found on all baseboards and could use a good wash. From certain tables, you can see into the kitchen through a window that is adorned with the restaurant’s logo….you can hear the sizzle of the burgers. History facts reside on the two garage doors that look like they open when the weather is nice. Burgers are made to order: have them with everything, have them with cheese, have them plain. The sliders are great for small hands. Greatly enjoyed the home cut fries!

Food here was fantastic. If you are looking for some food that will make your taste buds go wild this place is an awesome stop. We were just passing though town and decided to stop in. My daughter had a burger where the bun was made from a fried patty of Mac n cheese with bacon and a very flavorful burger topped with their special tiger sauce. The fries are fresh cut and delicious. Wide variety of dipping sauces made them even better. I enjoyed a slider and some wings that were also exploding with flavor and the fries just complimented this combo making me steal some of my daughters fries because I ate all of mine. They have beer and I think wine but no mixed drinks. A nice patio with a cool old gas station location. Fun place to take the kids. Love this locally owned gem!

The Mac of Oz Burger was Spectacular! I should have gotten the 1/4 lb burger. The 1/2 was almost impossible to fit in my mouth, but my momma didn’t raise a quitter. Would also highly recommend the Wicked Witch Burger if you like a little spicy Jalapeño as much as I do. 10/10 would recommend!

We stopped for coffee across the street and decided to try the food here. What an incredible surprise! I’m normally reluctant to eat at seafood restaurants away from a coast, but the fish, shrimp, chicken, and hushpuppies are hand breaded, made from scratch, fresh, simple, rustic and delicious. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss this hidden gem in Hayes, KS within a remodeled early 20th century filling station from second-generation restaurateur, Gari, and her colleagues!

Loved this place! My wife and I were just passing through on our way west to Denver and happened to drive through town around lunch time. Such a cool spot, being in an old gas station. The staff were so welcoming and had spot on recommendations! The burgers were fantastic, and you can tell they do not cut corners on ingredients. Perfectly seasoned and seared, and options for sauces and condiments were abundant without being overwhelming. The fries… Oh the fries. They season these bad boys with a cinnamon, sugar, salt combo… An epiphany! Not only were they tasty, but perfectly cooked, crispy and soft. We were so impressed with the food we had to get shakes for the road. No joke, I would weigh 400 lbs if I lived within 500 miles of this place. Planning road trips now so I can drive through Hayes, KS soon.

Passing through town on i-70 we wanted to grab some real food, we are so burnt out on fast food it’s not even funny! I am so glad we spent a few extra minutes and going to tiger burgers what an absolute delight the Mac of Oz Burger and the scarecrow Burger are something out of this world! In the heart of downtown Hays you cannot go wrong with any of these burgers-prices are right, portions are huge, and food options are endless!

Overall, great food. Stopped in on the way to Denver and was not disappointed. The sliders were cooked perfectly and we’re juicy. Fries were on point; the cinnamon added to seasoning was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely recommend.
