I loved their chicken fried rice the first time, but the second time was really bland. The price is a little high, I think Fuji rice is much better and only $4 more than the tiger rice(has veggies). Their crab ragoons are nice and crispy with a good flavor, but they are on the smaller side and $1 a piece. The space inside is limited and most people get the food to go. You can place an order before arriving to save time as they make the food fresh and you may be waiting a bit.

Ordered take out. Asked for the shrimp pad Thai, got the chicken. Didn’t realize when I got it home. Guy behind the counter made zero eye contact was too busy doing something else. Worse part is the hair my wife found in the sushi. This will be the last time. Recommend others to avoid this place like the plague!!

Being disappointed is perhaps an understatement. We were all curious how this new restaurant is doing since Okii Mama moved out. The restaurant looks nicely decorated, but the food was not what I expected, especially the Thai cuisines they were offering here. I ordered Tum Yum Noodle Soup with shrimp…all I can say is I have rarely left my food unfinished and this was the one of those times. The soup was much too salty and I had to pour the water I bought (no free water) into the the soup and even get a spoonful down. I ended up leaving half of the noodle soup unfinished. The server we had was also very clueless. When the server placed the first two dishes to the table, he basically said he didn’t know what the food was and asked us to figure it out ourselves. Then my noodle soup came, and rather than placing it on the table, he asked my colleague to pick up the soup for him because he couldn’t remove it from his tray, and he seemed like he didn’t feel like providing the service either. We were all so puzzled as we had already paid tips when we were ordering and yet service we got was definitely unprofessional. The food preparers may also need some more training before they can serve food to the public. No, I cannot imagine coming back again as the food and service were both so disappointing.

I was pleased with my experience. The food was good for what you get. We ordered the gyoza, crab Rangoon and three different rolls. They were all pretty good. There was no free water, which was annoying, so we had to BUY OUR OWN. The waiter was friendly and helpful. I hope he refills the soy sauce because we used the rest of it. If I really wanted sushi I would come back, but not just for food.

Ordered take out from here for the first time. We ordered sushi rolls, pad Thai and chicken hibachi.
The sushi rolls were very good, fresh, and the tempura roll was still hot even by the time we got home. The pad Thai was disappointing, no flavor, no peanuts or green onion (or any onions) in it, it was mostly meat and bean sprouts, hardly any noodles. Looked nothing like the picture posted on their website/Facebook page. The hibachi chicken was also almost flavorless, and the meat was not very tender. I used to work at a Thai restaurant, so I was excited to try this place, and it did not taste like any Thai food I have ever had. Not sure its worth going back just for the sushi. If we give it another try we will try dine in and order different dishes. I read on other reviews that you have to purchase water if dining in, there is no free water or water refills, so that is a little strange. Not sure if I want to dine in somewhere that doesn’t offer water with refills.

Tried two meals from here: Pad Thai and the steak/chicken hibachi. Also had crab rangoons as an appetizer.

Crab rangoons were quite good. Never had them before, so can’t compare them to other places.

The pad Thai was really disappointing. It lacked flavor and had basically no meat on it.

The hibachi was lackluster as well. The chicken was quite flavorless. Many of the steak pieces were overcooked and hard to chew.

The portion size for both meals was generous, but unfortunately the food was just disappointing

An adequate Japanese restaurant with inoffensive dishes.
From the two things we ordered I would say that most people in Columbia would be fine eating here. Mildly seasoned, lots of yum yum sauce and mayonnaise. I expected more from the owner of Tiger Chef, but understand that the mission of ‘Tiger Ninja’ is very different than Tiger Chef.
Service was very friendly, had a small ordering issue but it was sorted out quickly.
The black and red walls are a little intense, but everything is clean, so no complaints there.

If you want some quick hibachi style food, then you’ll be satisfied. I went during the soft open, so the menu and food may change when the official open happens.

I’ve only ever tried one thing! But it was delicious. I didn’t know it wouldn’t have rice, but o ordered it on the side and it completed our meal. The bowl I had was delicious, and I hope to try more in the future.

A friend suggested this place today for lunch. I had never even heard of it before today. I was familiar with the location because it’s the old Okii Mama location.

The food was very reasonably priced. I ordered the shrimp bento box and an eel roll and we split a seaweed salad.

There’s nothing fancy about the To-Go containers the food was served in however it didn’t take away from the taste of the yummy food.

If you’re looking for some reasonably priced Japanese fusion food on the south side of town, stop in and check them out.

I had the chicken bento which was a bit expensive ($15 after tax) but considering the portions were large I think it was a fair price.

However, other than the spring rolls, which were amazing, the food was pretty bland. Chicken and rice were fine after you smothered them in yum yum sauce, but the sushi just tasted like I was eating a raw cucumber. I love their other restaurant, Tiger Chef, so I hope their Thai offerings are better, but I don’t think they have a strong grasp of the fundamental flavor profiles of Japanese cooking.

Service was friendly and quick. Atmosphere a little dark, but it was clean so it’s not a big deal.
