As an avid fan of Indian cuisine, I decided to give Tiffin Indian Cuisine a try. Following my usual approach when visiting a new restaurant, I opted for some of the simplest and most traditional dishes: vegetable samosas as an appetizer, chicken tikka masala for the main course, and rice pudding (kheer) for dessert.

The service was prompt—my food arrived within 10 minutes of being seated. One thing to note: you have the option to either sit and wait for a server or order at the counter.

Starting with the samosas, they were quite good overall. Made traditionally with peas and potatoes, the only slight drawback was the strong presence of cumin, which slightly overwhelmed the other flavors. While I know cumin is common in Indian cuisine, I found it a bit too dominant here. However, the three accompanying chutneys—peach, tamarind, and green chutney—were delightful. The peach chutney was my favorite, offering a perfect balance to the spices in the samosas.

The chicken tikka masala was exactly what I hoped for. It was prepared traditionally and the flavors were spot-on. There’s not much else to say—it was a solid dish, well-executed and flavorful.

Unfortunately, the meal ended on a slightly disappointing note with the kheer (rice pudding). Kheer is supposed to be creamy and sweet, but this one was watery and lacked the usual richness. It tasted mostly of milk, with none of the complexity or sweetness that typically makes kheer so enjoyable.

A few additional notes about the restaurant itself: their QR codes on the tables didn’t work, which was a bit frustrating. Also, their website could use an update, as it didn’t reflect the full menu that was available in the restaurant.

As for the atmosphere, it was fairly simple and didn’t scream “Indian culture” in an overwhelming way. The decor was plain but featured subtle touches, like Indian photography on the walls, which I personally enjoyed. While the space didn’t feel overly themed or immersive, the minimalist approach worked well enough to create a relaxed dining environment.

Despite these minor setbacks, I would still recommend Tiffin Indian Cuisine to anyone looking for a traditional Indian food experience. I’m looking forward to seeing their improvements in the future.

The food was really good. The portions seemed a little small. For example, the chicken tikka masala had only 4 chunks of chicken (they were larger chunks than usual but seemed a little chincy for a dish nearly $20.

Also, I asked for “very very spicy” and it came out medium, so order accordingly.

Tiffin is a chain of Indian restaurants that my family of ardent Indian food loyalists, have patronized for almost 15 -16 years. The favorite is the location in Bryn Mawr. Our family favorites are the Baingan Bharta, Paneer Tikka Masala, kajoo mattar paneer, malai kofta, Aloo Papri Chaat, samosa chaat, garlic and plain naans and
Peshawari naan. We love the atmosphere and the friendly service from Rudra and team at Bryn Mawr. The only pain I see is the limited parking space at the Bryn Mar location . Definitely recommend this chain for quality of food and service.

The sauce on this Chicken Tikka Masala was amazing – well done! However, I want to humbly BEG that you fix your chicken. The pieces of chicken breast in there are huge, hard to chew, overcooked, and flavorless! Can you consider brining your chicken breasts or not overcooking them? It seems they are all boiled in a big pot and then just cut into the sauce. Please do this as doing so would represent a substantial improvement in your restaurant’s quality.

Worse chicken biryani I have ever had. First time here. No one there on a dinner hour. Was absolute mush food with raisins and peanuts? Who are you kidding ? When the Tiffin first opened in Newtown square, it was delicious colorful rice with lots of meat and flavor, but when it changed and got terrible,I decided to try this place in Bryn Mawr. Now I need to avoid anything and everything with the word Tiffin in it. Please avoid. I took two bites and I threw it away. It was a waste and absolutely terrible. Gosh, close your place down. Your food is gross. Never again. Avoid this place. Trust me. Listen to the other reviews. I should have!

Have ordered from this location twice. Most recently the food was below the past standard. The tandoori chicken, for example, looked brownish green – less appetizing. The samosas seemed a bit on the bland side, as well. The shrimp curry was reasonably good. For some reason the delivery (on a Tuesday night) also took over 90 minutes. Since the first dining experience was good, it seems to be hit or miss here. But with a nearly $90 tab for 3 meals, I did expect more.

Delicious Indian food. Went during lunch, they have a small lunch special menu but with great prices which includes simosa or fried onion appetizer. We had the aloo gobi and eggplant dish can’t remember the name, both were outstanding!

Service and atmosphere/ cleanliness were very good.
The food was substandard. The Dal Tadka was probably made 2 days ago; the Chicken of the Chicken Tikka masala was dry instead of being juicy and tender; The rotis were not cooked properly.
Had to go home and fix myself something.

Looking for a place to get a late dinner after a movie at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute. Walking distance we found this gem. Excellent & prompt service with very good food. What more do you need?

Wow! Wow! Wow! The best Indian food I have had on the east coast so far. The Paneer Makhani was so incredibly delicious! I’ve never had it before and was so overjoyed when I discovered a new dish to dream about. The garlic naan was doughy, fragrant perfection, and the Mango Lassis were sublime. We ordered the Paneer Makhani “mild” and it had just the right amount of spice. The Paneer Tikka Masala was very spicy so if you prefer less spicy food, ask for mild. The basmati rice was cooked to perfection. Also, we very much appreciated the tape across the top of the lassis so they didn’t spill. Excellent! We will absolutely return!
