One stop shop, market in the front & fresh food in the back. Food is the bomb!!! Al Pastor, Carne Asada, and the Pollo are very delicious. I always go for the Burrito but their tacos are on point as well. Prices are affordable and the customer service is very welcoming to all.

Friendly service and I love the food . Although sometimes they still put onions on my food even though I always ask for none, they are always happy to change it and fix it right away. Other than that, I truly love this place and the food ❤️, that’s for sure. Highly recommend

A hidden restaurant in the back of the store, this place has been my go to for years.
Take me back to Guadalajara to see mi familia!
The staff are great, friendly and always helpful.
I loved it when no one really knew of this place, I was able to get my meals quickly and we would get in and out fast!
Now it’s busier and I don’t mind waiting, I’ve told EVERYONE about this place, the wait can sometimes be awhile if you get there during the lunch rush.
Their carne asada dinner plate is fire….the tacos al pastor are incredible. The veggie burrito is amazing, although when the avocado season hits, they are the best things to get!
The tacos dorrados are amazing as a well. I have yet to have anything I didn’t like.
The breakfast burritos can feed two, I wished they had chilaquiles….maybe they will see this and add them!? We will see!

This place is a gem in the heart of st John’s. My boys favorite Hispanic restaurant, he’s grown and in college now but when he comes home he always hits up santa cruz first thing. The food is as authentic as it gets and very fresh! Our family gives 5 stars. Thanks for serving St John’s so well over the years now!

I wasn’t too impressed with the taqueria – their refried beans were cold, rice was bland, and the shrimp was chewy. Overall, it was a very bad meal. I love supporting local mom & pop shops but I’ve had better experiences with taco trucks at a more affordable price.

On the other hand – great customer service from the store-end, and their tamales were to die for—so delicious. Would come back for the tamales.

A fun little neighborhood market and restaurant in St. Johns. It’s a good place to grab some quick eats, Hispanic groceries, meats, desserts, pane dolce, or household and cooking supplies. Oh, and 100s of colorful piñatas to choose from!

I usually pop in to grab a burrito, but today, I went for a combo plate with my friend. Chili rellenos are not noted on the menu, but they do have them. Just a smidge disappointed as my chili relleno was not hot, so the cheese was not melty as it should be. There was no sauce served with it either. I made up for it with their yummy green salsa. The chips were hot and delicious, as were the beans, rice, and corn tortillas. So, it’s not a total fail. I did grab a few sweet treats on the way out.

Something that does bother me is that there are no prices noted on the menu board, nor are there any paper/handheld menus. So dependent on the cashier, my bean burrito could be $5 or $9…it’s irritating.

5 stars – market
3 stars – restaurant

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This place is amazing! The menudo is fantastic, and so is the barbacoa. Pretty sure you can’t go wrong with anything in the place because everything we had was really top quality. It’s like you walked through the front door of the tienda, and by the time you get to the restaurant portion in the back, it feels like you’re actually in Mexico.

The REALEST deal around! Just stop in and try these street tacos for yourself!

This is gonna be random but stay with me for a sec. I’ve noticed a pattern… a good tell about the quality of a restaurant is how fresh their limes are. For example, sometimes restaurants will serve limes that are dry or maybe the peel is starting to turn a little, and typically the meal is… meh a best. Well I’ll tell you what, Tienda Santa Cruz served up some next level limes ‍ among amazing tacos and excellent horchata! 🙂

Hands down one of my favorite places to get some great Mexican food. The street tacos are amazing, along with their burritos. The little grocery store at the front is a really good place to pick up some good ingredients for cooking at home. I would highly recommend this place.

The tienda has the best tacos in a five mile radius. I gave the food a 4 because it ranges from really good to fantastic, depending on who’s in the kitchen.
