Tide and Vine is a seafood restaurant in Niagara Falls, Ontario, with a passion for oysters, East Coast flavours, and honest hospitality. What started out of a 1974 Volkswagen van in 2012 has grown into a well-loved Oyster House with a connected fish market next door. Our menu focuses on fresh Canadian seafood, wild-caught and sustainably sourced, with shucked-to-order oysters, classic seafood dishes, and creative seasonal features. Whether you’re here for happy hour, surf and turf night, or Sunday brunch, we aim to make every visit feel memorable. Not into seafood? We’ve got you covered with a house-ground burger, steak tartare, and always a turf feature worth talking about. Closing time reflects last seating/reservation time.

Food Review:
Oyster Platter: A selection of four different types of oysters, two of each. Tasting them in order from the mildest to the richest, paired with the restaurant’s house-made sauces, every bite tasted incredibly fresh, as if capturing the very essence of the sea—layered flavors that linger beautifully.
PO’Boy Fried Oyster Sandwich: Each plump fried oyster boasts a thin, crispy coating while remaining tender and juicy inside. Layered with thinly sliced fresh tomatoes and delicately pickled red onion slivers, all brought together with a secret sauce—rich without being greasy. With every bite, the freshness of the sea, the crunch of vegetables, and the smoothness of the sauce blend perfectly, creating a balanced, satisfying, and wonderfully textured experience.
Lobster Roll: An absolute standout! The freshly toasted roll is slightly crisp on the outside and soft inside, generously filled with incredibly fresh, bouncy lobster claw meat—every bite is pure indulgence. Unlike those sad, mushy versions elsewhere that lack any texture, this one is genuinely worth every penny. The sauce follows the restaurant’s signature philosophy of perfect balance, enhancing the natural sweetness of the lobster and leaving you craving more.
Service Experience:
The service was exceptionally professional. Our server warmly introduced the restaurant’s character, carefully explained the day’s menu, and offered thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences—particularly insightful was the guidance on pairing the house-made sauces with different oysters. Throughout the meal, they checked in at perfect intervals (about every 15 minutes) to ask how we were enjoying everything and whether we needed anything else. The timing was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive—making the entire experience wonderfully comfortable.
Overall:
An outstanding dining experience at Tide and Vine Oyster House from start to finish. The food and service left a strong impression, and I highly recommend giving this place a try.
We tried the East Coast oysters, mussels, octopus carpaccio, and a burger, and every single dish was executed perfectly. The oysters were fresh, clean, and full of flavour, the mussels were rich and delicious, and the octopus carpaccio was beautifully prepared and something truly special. Even the burger stood out; juicy, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients.
A huge shoutout to our waiter, Tristan, who truly elevated the experience. He was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and made us feel genuinely taken care of throughout the entire meal. His recommendations and warm energy added such a great personal touch and made the experience even more memorable.
Seafood – very fresh
Bread served on the side – buttery, crisp, and perfect for soaking up the sauce.
Lobster roll – enjoyed the buttered bread even more than the lobster meat itself — the lobster pieces were generous but the flavour was just okay
Chowder soup – was the best I’ve had so far: rich, smooth, and so good we couldn’t resist ordering another bowl.
Our meal at Tide and Vine was an absolute highlight of our Niagara trip! Located in a quiet neighborhood where most shops close early, this restaurant is a welcoming gem that stays open and bustling. We arrived at 5 PM and found the place already lively and full—a testament to its popularity.
The lobster roll was the star of the show: fresh, tender, and so delicious I finished it in what felt like seconds! The shrimp roll was good but couldn’t quite compare. We also loved the rich and creamy clam chowder—especially when paired with warm bread for dipping. The linguine was cooked perfectly, loaded with well-prepared seafood, and the steak was flavorful and satisfying.
Though the waitress initially forgot our cutlery due to how busy they were, she quickly apologized and brought everything we needed. The service was warm and attentive despite the crowd.
Tide and Vine is a must-visit for anyone in the area craving fresh seafood and a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. We can’t wait to return!
