We were pleasantly surprised!!!
We stopped of with friends on the way to gamble in Lake Charles!
Turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip!
Everything the 8 of us had was excellent!!
Two nights later we ate at Landry’s. The two are in completely categories standards (see my review of Landry’s).
Quality, VARIETY, price, Service

I’m a trucker and seen this cute fish restaurant in walking distance. I had a full meal including appetizer, mainmeal, dessert, and a virgin pina colada drink. It was only $56 for all of that. I got the gator bites as an appetizer. So freaking good, definitely recommend. The sauce to dip the gators bites was zesty, so if you can’t take heat their great by them self or with lemon squeezed on them. The dinner i picked was the salmon. So good, the sauce on top made that dish spike to a 10. I also. Couldn’t help myself to a dessert of a strawberry shortcake. Very good and great size for all the food items I got. Definitely recommend coming to eat here so yummy.

Highly recommend!!!! If you’re looking for an excellent seafood restaurant. This is the place! Bring an appetite with friends or family. They have a wide variety of starters and menu options that will be filled with large portion. The staff and manager were all excellent and very attentive with truly wanting to ensure everyone was happy and enjoying themselves. Wonderful home town feel with a country sea side vibe with a little playfulness (candy machines and stickers etc).
Pro Tip ~ If you have a large family or group., call ahead to avoid waiting. They are very willing to accommodate!

The food is like all the others and I had no problem with that. There was a live band playing and we enjoyed the music. However, the server,Cheyanne, was not good at all. We waited forever and when we got our food and needed refills on drinks we had to ask her. Then she proceeded to slam my water down and walk off like it was normal. I decided not to cause a scene and leave after eating. We will not be going back to this one but will go to others. All it takes is one person to put a bad taste in your mouth and they lose out because I’ll still spend my money and eat at other places.

What a great idea! Mexicajun food! Stuffed mushrooms to start, then I had the grilled boudin quesadillas and my fiancé had shrimp & grits. Great atmosphere. Terrific food! Our server, Dillan, was very attentive, friendly and did an excellent job. Thank you Dillan!

I am loyal to the catfish platter! The fish is consistent in being perfectly seasoned, thick and flaky with a crunchy light coating. I haven’t been impressed with the sides – fries are just ok, the potato salad lacks flavor, the hush puppies are hard and lacks taste.
I love the kitschy decor with the warm, welcoming, fun vibes of the place.
I purposely plan my travels through the area to accommodate a stop for a meal. I would love to have a Tia Juanita’s in Houston!

Outstanding experience! Dustin, the bartender was friendly and made great suggestions even alternating the menu to get me what I wanted. First ever boudin ball and I’m blown away! Why aren’t these in every city on earth? Also, first time eating a Pistolette. Light, delicate, cooked perfectly, tasted like a temporary escape from reality! Entree was bbq shrimp but I wanted grits not rice, was not a problem. Good move, best grits I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. Shrimp and sauce were perfect and the garlic toast was too! Highly recommend!!
