Charming restaurant with a cute outdoor patio that oozes charm, but more importantly, the food is wonderful. The French Dip was huge with tender roast beef and caramelized onions on a Dutch Crunch roll and it tasted delicious. Their Thyme chicken salad was also huge with fresh raspberries, goat cheese and walnuts. It looked beautiful and tasted amazing. Though we didn’t have one of their pastries, they all looked delicious.

Super cute restaurant and cafe with a delicious offering. It was hard to choose.

We enjoyed quiche and greens. Very flavorful.

Lovely and relaxing atmosphere. Outdoor seating is charming. Indoor seating is also lovely.

Look forward to returning.

The sweetest staff, yummiest food … highly recommend

Worth noting that there is no WiFi and service is bad, not the best place to work from home but wonderful to sit and relax. Beautiful

I took my in-laws to Old Town Rancho Santa Fe during their visit. The area is quiet and very upscale, but not much to do. We found a highly-rated bakery for lunch—small but busy. The food was tasty but pricey; my Chicken Focaccia Sandwich Combo was $20, and they had a Quiche and Blueberry Pie. We all enjoyed the flavors, and the place has a charming decor with tempting pastries. While I probably won’t return due to the area’s quietness, it’s worth a visit if you’re nearby.

I’ve been a loyal customer for over 5 years and have always had wonderful experiences with the staff, who are consistently kind, welcoming, and professional. That’s why my most recent visit was especially disappointing.

While having lunch with a friend, the owner approached our table and offered my friend a container for her leftovers. Since we had ordered the same dish and had a similar amount left, I politely asked if she could please bring me a box as well. Her response was dismissive and unnecessarily rude, saying, “Oh, I didn’t ask you—I asked her,” followed by what felt like a joke, but one that didn’t land well.

The interaction left a very sour taste and was surprising, given the warmth and generosity I’ve always experienced from the staff. I’m not sure where the rudeness came from, but it was uncomfortable and disappointing—especially from the owner.

While the staff deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, my experience with the owner was disappointing and earns 2 stars.

Food: We ordered breakfast, slice of quiche, breakfast sandwich, 2 coffees & a muffin, all delicious!
Service: it’s not full service. You walk up to cashier, order and find a spot to sit, inside or out. The cashier was knowledgeable
Atmosphere: super charming cottage type cafe
Price: $$$

This is such a hidden gem full of neighborhood charm! We had the magic bar, apricot almond bar, house coffee and iced latte. This is the best coffee we’ve had in San Diego and the treats were amazing!

Thyme in the Ranch is a staple here in Rancho Santa Fe Village. Their coffee, pastries, desserts, breakfast and lunch are a must try. The service is quick and friendly. My favorite right now is the avocado toast with eggs for breakfast. One of the only places I have been that offers great quiche.

The warm and cozy environment makes it a great place for one on meetings. Plus the outdoor seating is great for bigger groups.
