After 55 years of serving internationally renowned barbecue in Driftwood, the Salt Lick is honoring its cofounder with Thurman’s Old-Fashioned Burger at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Thurman Roberts traveled across Texas for work and he loved getting burgers at little stands along the way. Thurman’s Signature Cheeseburger was modeled after his favorite burger and includes two 1/4lb. beef patties with secret seasoning with a slice of cheese in the middle.

Quick friendly customer service on this Wednesday late afternoon. We ordered a and “fries” aka potato wedges. Overall, the food was pretty good for the airport.

Be prepared to wit in line 20 – 30 minutes to order, and about the same for unedable food. Burger are $17 and the chicken strips tasted like burnt grease. All the restaurants are run by Delaware north and they have run this once great food airport into the ground. Many of the restaurants are unopen, the tables are dirty and the trashcans overflow. Companies who have licensed their name here should reconsider how they are being exposed to the public.

I simply asked for no onions and no pickles…my food arrived and it has guess onions and pickles…when I to the person that is had requested no onions she snatches it snorts and goes behind the wall….when she brings it back I am accused of being the inconsiderate one….then the entire team puts on a show….if that was not enough the food was cold and dry. Date August 17th 530 pm….moral of the story the Austin airport…is a nono.

Staff took a few minutes to acknowledge us even though there was nothing going on. Burger was truly the driest, most underwhelming burgers I may have ever had, and waste of $24.

Just here to affirm the low ratings for this place. It’s sad to see management schedule such an understaffed crew.

22.19 for Burger ,fries and drink. Absolutely disgusting burger. Way overpriced for this!! Would have rather had McDonald’s!. Fries were good though.

After a long flight back to Austin, I was met by Ray at Thurman’s Old Fashioned Burger with a friendly attitude and super kind service. I had a couple of small requests on my burger and without a problem he accommodated them and made sure my order was correct.

Besides being pricey and slow (talking about the food). They couldn’t get a simple breakfast burger, at 7am. Don’t recommend them, go and spend a little more with the Salt Lick,as lesson learned.

Fantastic food! Way better than any food I’ve eaten at an airport. I had the philly with fries. The food was !!! Wish I’d taken a picture!! Only draw back is not a whole lot of seating but that isn’t their fault!

Came to the airport and found this place which I hadn’t seen before, so I thought I’d try it. I placed my order somewhat quickly and then waited for 15-20 minutes for any food to come out. Not just my food, but ANYONE’s food. Then after several orders came out they called my number. I had asked for my burger plain and dry, AKA just meat and bread. But when it came out, it had everything on it. So I asked the gentleman behind the counter about it. At first he tried to argue that the receipt said nothing about that, but then read on his copy that it at least said “plain”. Then when they brought back a second burger, it had cheese on it still, which I cannot have. He then argued with me for a minute more about how “plain and dry still means cheese”, which I know is not true after visiting many burger chains. After all that, I ended up leaving with no food and likely needing to charge back my payment. Even if you’re desperate, do not go here!!
