Nice place and great people, appears to be changing things up to improve the overall experience and atmosphere. What they are doing doesn’t appear to be just for show, looks like they are putting the work and money into the place to make it better.
Food exceeded my expectations for a typical bar, there food had flavor and most appears to be made onsite, not the normal frozen items that many bars try to pass off as meals.
Can’t wait to see all the changes in the next few months, but what they are already doing has made me a returning customer.
It’s worth the drive to stop in, if your in town for work, or just looking for a different place than normal to grab food for lunch or drinks after work.

Outstanding service. Parked right out front and was greeted at the door by DJ the server took my order on my way in. I was not hungry till I saw the great special of the day chicken sandwich and had to get it. Amazing juicy fried chicken sandwich with all the fixings and the fries hit the spot. 2.50 vodka drinks was another great value. The band the neighbors were playing and is was a special night. Very friendly. We will be back…

It took us a bit to find this place as the tracks were closed. We had to drive around to get here. Small dive bar (just like we like to find) it was pretty bright for a friday night. The TV was playing Godzilla and the beer was a tad flat but cold. Still drinkable. The food was AWESOME!!! There was a limited menu, but the chicken sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. Not too much breading and cooked perfect! The waitress was very friendly and service was good. There wasn’t a lot of people here, but I chalk that up to being hard to get to from the fairgrounds. Not a bad place, just needs a little better atmosphere. The waitress even helped me find some peach crown to purchase across the street. When we get back in town we will stop back so I can thank her(and get another sandwich!)

Great prices on nightly dinner specials, and surprisingly good food. 1 bartender cooking, cleaning tables, doing dishes, etc. Felt terrible for her.

This place is GREAT….I happened to stop in after the fair ended on my way exploring the DesMoines area….the name suits me & I am so glad I went in asking about food. I got a steak cooked just 4 me & had a nice red beer & their mugs are perfectly light, surprisingly, as in the plastic is.. The bathrooms are spacious, clean & bright with proper soap dispenser as well as a hand dryer & also its smart to have sensor on/off switches. Very impressed with it all! I will be back soon so I cam check up on the people i bonded with. Extremely friendly folks!

We had lunch here at noon, and the only employee that was on duty had at least 20 people to get drinks, food orders and then cook the orders she took orders for. Angie did a great job the food was good, her attitude was great. I believe I would have been her I would have been a little less pleasant. I never have understood how an employer in the service industry would only schedule one person to work in an establishment that serves food. Most of the time I’ve seen a cook, cooking not a bartender. In this case it worked out fine but it can’t last forever, and why would you push your employees that much.
