A really enjoyable experience. We had a double kayak float drown the lower Taylor river and then had a nice dinner at the three rivers bbq smokehouse. Extremely convenient and great serving staff. The food was great and not bad pricing either. And nicely tucked away from the road in its own courtyard. A must do and see.

Stopped at Three Rivers Smokehouse at Three Rivers Resort in Almont. They’re totally dog-friendly—brought out a big bowl of water and even a treat for my giant pup. The river views are awesome, the brisket was super good, and the overall street food vibe was just really positive. Great experience dining there.

We had a great lunch here. Kit was our server and he was excellent. It is clear he cares deeply about his guests and the experience they receive. When we had arrived, the restaurant had gotten so busy that they actually had to briefly stop accepting food orders to allow the kitchen to get caught up. Although this may be a less than ideal situation, I really appreciate how much the team communicated and still took wonderful care of everyone. We were continuously updated and able to order some food after just a little while.

The salmon dip and tots were delicious! The salmon dip is great for sharing, and we ordered the tots “hyside fry style” which was absolutely the right choice. Food is great, service is fantastic, and the outdoor dining is great to enjoy with friends and some brews.

We were really disappointed with our visit. The pasta for the kids was overcooked and had an odd taste — my daughter didn’t feel well after eating it. The adult food was better, but the service ruined the experience. None of the servers smiled, we felt rushed and unwelcome the entire time, almost like we weren’t wanted there because we are tourists.
It’s a shame because the place itself is beautiful and has a great concept, but the poor service and lack of respect for customers made it a very negative experience.

We recently dined at Three Rivers Smokehouse in Almont, CO, and had a really enjoyable experience. We called ahead to reserve a spot for our party of 9 (4 adults, 5 children), and they easily accommodated us, which was a great start. The staff were friendly, and the outdoor seating provided the perfect atmosphere with fantastic weather.

The menu had a nice variety of options, making it hard to choose just one thing! We started with the smoked salmon dip, which came with pita bread, tortilla chips, carrots, and celery. The dip was incredible, and the portion was generous enough that we took some home to enjoy later.

My wife ordered the Smokehouse Deluxe sandwich with brisket on gluten-free bread (which comes as a bun) and Hyside fries. She asked for lean brisket, but the server explained they couldn’t guarantee specific cuts, as they work with what they have. In the end, she didn’t have many complaints, but also didn’t find anything particularly exceptional about the sandwich.

I went with the brisket platter, requesting a fatty cut, but I ended up with a leaner portion while my wife’s brisket turned out a bit fattier than she preferred. We swapped bites to balance things out. The brisket was tender and moist, but we both agreed it lacked strong flavors. I also found the lack of sauce options a bit disappointing; I’m a fan of mustard-based barbecue sauce, and there were only standard sauces available.

The Hyside fries (tossed with parmesan and truffle oil) were a hit for me, though my wife and kids weren’t as impressed. I’m still on the fence about whether the $3 upcharge was worth it, but I personally thought they were tasty.

Our kids enjoyed their meals—two got the chicken tenders and fries, which disappeared quickly, and my third child ordered the Mac N Cheese with pulled pork. He loved it, and the portion was large enough for leftovers.

Overall, while the brisket wasn’t the star of the meal, the menu variety, atmosphere, and friendly staff make Three Rivers Smokehouse worth the extra 10-15 minute drive from Gunnison. We’ll be back to try more dishes since they all sounded fantastic!

Only seating is outside. We got the half chickenn dinners and had to get a doggy bag. Lots of food. My son got the brisket platter and got 3 straps of brisket. Kid meals had a lot of food. The burgers were big. Great food.

Love eating here. Not real fancy, just great food, atmosphere, and location. I’ll be back every time I come up. Death fries shouldn’t be missed.

Awesome nachos! The brisket was smoked well and flavorful. Good parking if you have a larger vehicle. Great alternative to eating in crowded Crested Butte.

There was a total of seven tables and two waitresses and one bartender. We walked 2 ft past the waitress station where you were supposed to wait and the bartender just looked at us Like what the heck are you doing going past this spot? Rude so so I had to flag somebody down and I asked, Are you our waitress and the lady just looked at me with dumbfounded look like she didn’t know but she was happy to wait on us.

We just spent 8 days at 3Rivers and ate almost all our lunch/dinner meals at the Smokehouse – we ate breakfast there once. At time we had over 12 people! I believe we tasted the entire menu. Best choice is the nacho!! The meat is tender and flavorful. The brisket is amazing!!!
