This is a serious dive bar but don’t let that deter you. The food is fantastic. We hit the midnight crawfish boil on Saturday and did not regret it. Even with how busy it was, the bartender was upbeat and friendly, and honestly the vibes were good.

Best crawfish we could find around the French Quarter. Open later than anywhere else and serving huge portions for prices you can’t beat. Loved the dive atmosphere and
classic boil set up with no frills

Best crawfish we’ve ever had! Mat and Butters are awesome bartenders. Came back 3 days in a row for crawfish and their beer specials. Open 24 hours. If you are visiting New Orleans, you have to stop in The Three Legged Dog bar!

This might be the dirtiest dive bar I have ever been to, and I loved it. Many reviews say there are rats here(think how many places have them and you just didn’t know), and my wife saw one but don’t let that steer you away from this little gem. I recommend the crawdad boil, you can’t go wrong. Beers were good and place was fun. Seriously, just get the crawdad boil and beers and you will be just fine.

Came here 15 years ago then again in September and it was exactly as I remembered it. The divey-ist dive in Nola. Great for late night snacks but yeah probably not the cleanest. Decent drink specials and always open. Great tots and fried pickles.

This place has pretty good bar food. Six wings for $9 and two for one beers.
The Three Legged Dog is a local bar with reasonable prices and a good pitstop if you happen to be staying north of Bourbon Street.

It’s been a while. I’m an out-of-towner who stuck it out during Hurricane Ida, although I had attempted to leave town, not first before giving away the essentials for day-to-day living. What this means is I had no food or drink in a city largely shut down. The Three-Legged Dog, well, they reopened immediately and management brought in a grill and privately stockpiled foodstuffs and were out there providing food to the community when almost everyone else was still shuttered. It was clear that this was done out of sense of duty and pride and, well, it kept me alive in those first few days. It’s been over four years, I haven’t been back in town since (something I need to fix), but I haven’t forgotten their hospitality or kindness.

Absolutely loved this place while visiting. Didn’t hear any music just Breaking Bad’ reruns on the TV which suited me just fine. I had the crawfish boil 3 times in two nights. Amazing!!! Also tried the mozzarella sticks and battered mushrooms and they were both perfect bar food snacks. Excellent service that doesn’t discriminate tourists from locals. I frequent New Orleans as much as a Canadian can and I’ll be back for sure!!!!
