First time here and it was quiet for lunch. Had the cup of seafood chowder and it was good for pub food. Creamy with scallops, shrimp and big chunks of potato. Took on the Dewey all beef hotdog with added chili sauce for additional $3. Toasted roll and plenty of chili sauce did not overwhelm the bigger than average hotdog which was juicy and very tasty. My partner had the bowl of chili topped with plenty of cheese and served with tortilla chips. The Captain Eli’s root beer was great. Reminded us of the old fashion root beer barrel candy.
Server was pleasant and quick to bring food out.

Fun atmosphere and good happy hour. Live music and lots of tvs (the Olympics was on). Chicken tenders were very good!

This was our first meal when we arrived in Portland for vacation. It is centrally located in Old Port and near the Bay and shopping. They have a diverse menu and the food was good. The staff were all nice and the atmosphere was fun and inviting.

Back in the day this was my spot to grab a beer due to the huge variety on tap and overall atmosphere at night. Wish I tried their food a long time ago, but only recently stopped in for lunch. It was solid and definately will be going back to try other options. Im a clam chowder snob and prefer it super thick so the spoon can stand up. Their chowder was very good, not soupy at all. The Haddock Rachel sandwich was very good also, I opted for extra slaw instead of the fries. The slaw was good, probably healthier for me, but I prefer mine on the more creamy side. All in all, great place to hit up while in the Old Port.

Stopped into Dewey’s for a late lunch. Had a hearty seafood chowder and the fish tacos. Both were very good. The chowder had big pcs of fish, clams, etc. There were 2 tacos and fries with that order. One taco, a few fries, and the bowl of chowder and I was stuffed (should have settled for a cup ). It’s “old” pub atmosphere. They have a good variety of craft beers.

Was seated after 15 minutes waiting for water we had to ask another server if we could get our water. Our server brings us food course he didn’t bring us any silverware. Waited another 5 to 7 minutes for him to grab some silverware so one of our steak dinners could be eaten. Hamburger was dry I got less than a handful of fries. I buy 50 lb bags of potatoes for 20 bucks and they can’t load my plate with fries that the meal cost me $20 for a cheeseburger and fries. You all want to go eat there go for it for me it won’t happen again
Food was okay I thought a little overpriced not much fries for what you pay and the crappiest service in a long time
That is $20 for a cheeseburger and a handful of fries what a shame

Loved this place. Has a great set up, we sat at bar that straight in from door. Our bartender was attentive and friendly. Babe had the $3 Dewey and said it was a tasty beer. Had the soups for some small on eat. I had chili, man it was good! Babe had the seafood chowder it was packed full of big pieces of seafood.

The service was the worst we’ve had anywhere. Our food was overcooked and dry. The server never checked to see how our food was. It wasn’t even prepared as ordered. I ordered my burger cooked medium with cheddar cheese and no onion. It came out with the patty and bun both crunchy, no cheese and thick onion. We will never go back.

So thankful for the vegan menu! Three Dollar Deweys made for a great dinner on our girls trip, and they had something for everyone. I had the vegan buffalo chicken sandwich. This is where I tried my first blueberry beer too – highly recommend!

Classic sports bar vibes and nice staff
