Welcome to Ashland Thompson St. Tavern.
This evening was opening day. Ashland welcomed Thompson St. with a very hungry crowd.
The menu is full of treats. Crab cakes, Bison Ragu, excellent burgers, etc. Plenty of cocktails and a decent wine list.
This evening the owner approached our table to thank us for dining at his restaurant on opening day. At the end of our meal the manager asked if they met our expectations. We had an excellent evening.
The staff was hustling tonight. Brittany did an awesome job serving our table for eight. Outstanding opening day!
We’ll be back.

Easily the best burger in Ashland that I’ve tried so far. I got their take on a cheesesteak (called the 3chopt) and it was fantastic. My wife got the burger and that was well cooked and flavorful. The fries (crinkle cut) were especially good, nice and crispy. We’ll be back in the future to try more!

Stopped by Thompson St. Tavern for lunch today and it was another fantastic experience. The burger and wings were great—the wings had that ideal crispness while keeping the smoky flavor intact, and the burger was cooked exactly to order. Beyond the food, the wait staff was incredibly polite and attentive, which really rounds out the neighborhood tavern vibe they have going. Another 5-star review for a reliable, high-quality meal!

A big indicator of how staff treats their customers is the clean up.
I despise staff coming and cleaning tables next to mine while I’m eating… spraying cleaning product while I can smell it while eating.
Joey didn’t do that. She was very deliberate in her technique ensuring my taste buds were not infiltrated with bleach… PROPS!
Cale was manning the front entrance… eas funny and welcoming… as was Joey.
Finally… Brittany. #ROCKSTAR
Not too attentive… not too stand backish. Smilies… clear… concise.
GREAT STUFF!

Great food, great service. It’s in a cool old house so the tables are in various rooms, somewhat close together but cozy. I went for lunch but can’t wait to go back for dinner. Parking is a little tricky in thr back but perhaps other businesses nearby allow parking during peak dinner times.

My husband made reservations at Thompson Street Tavern, one of Ashland’s newest and busiest restaurants. The atmosphere was lively, and our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about both the food and drink menu.
The salads were beautifully presented. I ordered the Shrimp Po’ Boy — the flavor was excellent, but the very long bun could have used a few more shrimp to balance the portion. My husband had the Crab Cakes, which had great texture and flavor, though with only two smaller cakes, the portion felt a bit light for a dinner entrée for the price.
Overall, we had a good experience with attentive service and flavorful food. With slightly more generous portions, it would be exceptional!

Our first visit to this place was excellent. This is a a must for locals and anyone else coming to the area. I’m truly giddy over the experience my family and I had. Food, service, and most of all, the cocktails, all excellent. Big win & much needed for Ashland/Hanover. If you are considering going, don’t think twice, go!
To ownership/staff, major kudos! The hunt club cocktail was 10/10. My wife is a huge spicy margarita fan, asked the bartender if she could make one, and boom.. it was excellent. Keep up the great work. You have the locals behind you!

Just had an early dinner and it was delicious. I had the smoked turkey sandwich. Others had burgers and fried oysters. Everyone said it was good. We will be back. We also had drinks and my amaretto sour was great!! The bartender and waiter were very friendly.

Food was good. Mussels were great. Sauce on the crab cakes was not good. Tomato based. Needs to be remoulade and served on the side. Sauce on the meatloaf not good. But will come back again.

It was rather loud due to crowding but that’s expected for a new business so no point off for that. We were told an estimated 30 minute wait. We were sat within about 15 minutes. Great music selection and the volume was not over powering. The waiter, Joe, was fantastic. He was friendly and attentive even with as busy as it was. The food came out surprisingly quickly considering the volume of business at the time. Everything was prepared to our requests and was served hot and fresh. We checked out other dishes and customer reactions at nearby tables. Everyone else seemed pleased and the food looked amazing. We played it safe with traditional selections. I’m looking forward to trying some of the specialty items not served anywhere else in town. The only downfall for me was the text message for seating. We typically try to seperate from technology when we go out so we can enjoy personal connections with our guests. The only recommendation that I have is to provide pricing for wine by the bottle next to the glass price.
We look forward to the newness to wear off and things to calm down so we can come try again when the atmosphere can be best enjoyed. Welcome to Ashland. We’re glad you’re here!! I heard rumors of brisket coming soon. This Texas girl will be ready to see how it compares to home.
