It’s a lovely restaurant that has a different ambience than what you normally find in Coshocton. There’s a classy bar, private area and the tall booths you find at many steakhouses. The menu has all your pub staples, but sets itself apart with a large seafood menu. The staples are also done with a bit more finesse than you’d normally find. Service is a bit slow, but everyone is super nice. Everything is kept really clean. There’s a big range in prices, so anyone can dine here. Definitely recommend stopping in either for a special occasion or just to relax.

I have a gluten and dairy allergy. I immediately told told the server. She clarified with the chef, and the chef asked if they could bake my walleye instead of grilling it. They substituted sweet potato waffle fries because the rice was unsafe. They used olive oil to cook the shrimp and vegetables instead of butter. Everything was delicious! My husband isn’t a fan of fancy places but enjoyed his meal so much that he was at ease. This was definitely a great lunch stop!

We spent the weekend up in roscoe hillside cabins and wanted somewhere nice to go for dinner on our second night and we heard about the Thompson Ninety-Nine. This place was fabulous! The service was amazing not only our waitress but all the staff any time someone walked past asked us if we wanted refills on water or drinks and if we wanted them to remove empty dishes for us. We both got steaks I got the ribeye and my husband the bacon wrapped filet with a lobster tail on top. Both were mouth-watering delicious but to top it off I believe it was the manager or the chef before we even got a chance to eat came to our table and told us he didn’t like how the lobster tail was cooked and brought more out for my husband at no charge. I have never had a place go that above and beyond to make sure a customer was satisfied! This experience alone will be the reason we return to coshocton!

Worst “dining” experience. Thought we made a great choice when we walked in and were seated. Waitress was very helpful and attentive. Great atmosphere & Drinks from the bar were great. Husband was served a COLD piece of prime rib, I mean, cold, like right out of the fridge cold. It was sent back to the kitchen, TWICE. The waitress knew it still wasn’t edible (at this point the quality was compromised) when she brought it out, and stated she has been serving cold food all evening, that it was the kitchen staff’s fault. Since it was our wedding anniversary, I wanted to keep things up beat. I told her it was not her fault and gave her a great tip anyway. The waitress comped our drinks, but we will not be back and will let others know. We do t mind paying more for a good meal. This was a total waste of $100.

I was looking for a halfway point to meet my parents who live a ways away. Thompson Ninety-Nine was a gem in a sea of small towns. Food is delicious and beautifully plated. Lots of food styles to choose from and nicely made specialty drinks.
The decor is challenged by the fact that they have been a town staple for years, but woodwork and front window are cared for with much love. Everything is in great shape. Some pictures here overstate the group dining. The town even had their streets lined with amazing flower displays.
The chef special was mahi and my Dad loved it. I had the awesome salmon. Even their seasonal vegetables were done in classy style, not just steamed.
We did the pretzel bites appetizer, which came out looking like candy buckeyes, but tasted crispy and buttery.
Staff is fantastic and made for a great experience. Super glad I found them. Having a web presence made the difference.

Went for dinner with family to celebrate a birthday. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We were in the room with the fireplace, and it was lovely. There were 7 in our party and the large round table made it nice for us to see the birthday girl and visit with each other. There was a variety of entrées including steak, prime rib, pork chops, seafood, chicken, pasta, and sandwiches. The lobster bisque was to die for, and the salads were fresh and delicious. We had a very nice experience and we will definitely be back.

The Thompsons did a great job in reviving this old restaurant. They kept the old-American charm of the interior, complete with the beautiful old bar, updated the menu, and hired a terrific new staff.
Food is excellent. Fresh dinner salads, flavorful steaks, hearty burgers, some of the tastiest ravioli around. Service is almost always terrific, some of the staff is outstanding. Not cheap but not outrageously expensive either – the prices fit the quality of the food well.
Hoping this restaurant sticks around for a long time. If you’re visiting Coshocton for whatever reason, this is your best bet for dinner.

Best thing about the place is the historic look inside. Sadly the service was one of the worst I have ever experienced and both our meals were severely overcooked and burnt. We were the only table in there at 1st, and still sat for several minutes without drinks or anyone coming to table. Waiting over an hour for food and no one ever returned to table after initial water brought and food delivered (had to ask a passerby server for refill of water) . My boyfriends fish was so burnt we struggled to even get a steak knife into it. Had such high hopes for a nice place in our community, but sadly heartbroken over the 2nd worst restaurant experience of my entire life.

Menu is pricey – $16 for a chicken wrap – which I get it, that’s the world we are living in these days… BUT I still expect quality… I got what was the equivalent of a fast food chicken tender, for the price of a gourmet chicken tender (is there such a thing?), and some fries. Catch my drift???

Lunch rush, plus only seeing 2 people serving, I wont put that on the server herself. (Been there! former server here). I’ll chalk it up to potentially a staff shortage (another case of, the state of things today).
Such a beautiful place inside, but had a bit of an odor to it, cant really describe what it was. Wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t pleasant either.
This review is not meant to tear down the business, or the staff… just giving honest feedback in hopes that management / ownership uses this as constructive criticism so the next person’s dining experience is better.
I will be back, and hope for a better experience.
