Had very bad experience yesterday.
Went to get Banana split. The guy was making it wrong way from the beginning. We have been getting Banana split here almost twice/ month. I used to make it at family owned B&R for sometimes too.
First of all, he assumed I just wanted 2 scoops as I just told him 2 flavors while I was deciding on 3rd one. When I asked him about the 3rd scoop he said “oh I though you wanted only these 2 so I put 1-1/2 of each.so there is no space” I let it go. Then he was trying to scoop hot fudge as it was not enough and he could not make another batch. But he should have told me before making it.
Since they were out of the lid, he put the plastic wrap on the top of it and I objected it as it was going touching the hot fudge and I was not ready take it that way. (if the wrap was only touching to whippings cream, it should have been fine)
I paid for it so I asked him to make another one but he said he dont have hot fudge, so I asked for refund and left. It was very disappointing experience. I hope they hire people with good customer service in future.

They have recently moved the cafe from Montgomery plaza to the plaza on the opposite side of the road.
They serve decent variety of coffee( hot and cold), Ice creams, shakes and swirls in cone and cup.
They also serve soups and bakery items.
Nice and cozy place to visit with kids and friends.

A nice coffee, pastry & ice-cream place in a plaza next to a cinema. I stopped here because my son playing tennis at the Nassau Tennis Club for a few hours, and I didn’t expect there is a jazz band playing. I have never seen a band in a coffee place, but I enjoyed. The one thing they need to fix is the decor – need to relocate the refrigerator in the middle of the room that is taking away the sitting area so the bar space can be used, move the machines inside the bar, and utilize the back of the room space.

Staff were very nice. Approve of the space invaders wall art. Small cappuccino had my heart pounding like a racehorse later. 10/10 would reccomend the coffee and macaroon I got.

What a truly wonderful experience it was coming here. This nice young lady that works there was very polite. There was a bit of traffic building up in there behind me, but she was very patient with me as I surely took quite a while to order a few things for my family members. Everything was clean, and freshly organized. She even made sure to reassure me that the utensils were all cleaned properly because I tend to get a bit skeptical due to the possibility of cross contamination. The ice cream quality was great! Much better than most other places in this area. I never asked for that young lady’s name but she wore a lot of bracelets, and had black nails just like my daughter, which I complemented! I will be back in here for sure!
Will recommend this place for all ice cream lovers!

I’ve been here about two times in the past couple of years. Every time I go into the cafe I get reminded of why I never wanna go in. This time around hit the spot for me. My friend and I had walked into the store holding my puppy, In my hands trying to order her a small ice cream. Two employees had already seen me holding her, In my hands. While another employee came out and started complaining to another employee talking about my dog. They kept talking until finally someone said something very nasty. I kindly walked out. My friends have seen dogs come in and out of cafe with dogs. Someone had said they don’t care for dogs. I just visited at the wrong time. Didn’t know I had to choose a right time. I guess you aren’t allowed to bring in emotional support dogs. TERRIBLE. JUST TERRIBLE. Another thing is how are you serving me ice cream and very disgusted with my dog but yet your scooping my ice cream without gloves on. It is Covid still. I don’t recommend going here.

Thomas Sweet, to put it lightly, is the greatest ice cream place on this planet, and we are blessed to live in NJ and be within 15 minutes of two locations.
I don’t want to tell you how to order, but if you order anything other than cookies and cream ice cream blended with peanut M&Ms, you are not achieving your own potential in life.

My husband and I went in for ice cream after having dinner near by. We will not be back. This was likely the most horrific experience we ever had at an ice cream shop. First my husband ordered a soft serve cone, that was already melted before it was handed to him. The manager simply put an extra napkin under it and said “here you go”. As someone familiar with ice cream machines he should have noticed this right away and given the machine some time to rev up. that was the first problem we let go. While making my Sunday he used a spoon from chopped peanuts and used it to scoops brownie bites, cross contamination for anyone allergic to nuts. While eating my Sunday the hot fudge turned gummy where you couldn’t even eat it. We simply asked for a refund for the Sunday ONLY. The manager did not offer to remake it, and said that was not a valid reason for a refund. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone… being there are so many other better options in the area. If ownership wants to reach out to us please do.

Thomas Sweet Cafe took over Orpha a few years back, and moved in the Montgomery shopping center. The place continued Orpha’s tradition to have live music and encouraging local photographers. They added their signature ice-cream and something good to nosh to the coffee menu. Today the place offers a nice atmosphere where you can lay back grabing something to eat and finish with a coffee or ice-cream, everything in a bohemian atmosphere. Have fun ☺.
