This & That Restaurant in Manchester is truly a hidden gem, as it’s tucked away from the busy main areas. The concept is simple, you choose your dishes and the staff serve the curries you want.

The food is filling and satisfying. Even though the restaurant looks simple, almost like a canteen, it’s always busy with customers who clearly enjoy the food and keep coming back because the menu suits their taste well.

The staff are friendly and always smiling, which adds to the pleasant dining experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for good, affordable food . Highly recommend

OMG the food is so lovely here. I reckon I’ve been to many different Indian restaurants or curry houses before in Manchester but I would say this little hidden canteen-like curry house might be my favourite now. The chicken curry and tikka masala I had were so tasty and unique, and the spinach and vegs were nice as well with rice. All of these including a can were just £8.50 absolutely worth it.

We were attracted by the relatively high review score (4.7 after more than 2000 reviews). What makes it worthwhile is that you’ll have a generous portion of decent food for a ridiculously reasonable price. The selection varies daily, but that great price for the rice and three (curries) is constant. All the curries we tried were decent but not outstanding, but the price cannot be beat. Listening to the patrons and the warm greetings of the staff, it is obvious that many diners make it a regular stop. Michelin star? Nope. But a filling meal at an unmatched price – count me in.

This place is good, its odd at first when your asked how many curry sauces you want but they will explain if you say you haven’t been before. My husband had chicken tikka masala and chicken curry with rice and I had 3 veg (Dahl, onions and potatoes and some curry sauce) I would advice to look at the menu before going to give you an idea but there is a menu board inside. It cost us £17 for the curries/rice, a garlic naan and a Rubicon very reasonable. Definitely hidden and off the beaten track, staff are nice.

I’ve visited this restaurant around 14:00 on a weekday. There’s quite a large seating area and it’s pretty clean.
They have different menu on each weekday. I have ordered a lamp curry from the daily menu with a garlic naan (total £7.80 which I believe is a good deal for a good meal). I’m glad the gentleman working at the cashier has stopped me ordering 2 naan as he afraid that I might be too full. The temperature of the food is hot enough and the portion is just right!

We are definitely going to visit again and recommend to our friends.

Amazing hearty Pakistani food that is unbelievable value for money. You can go for a rice + 3 curry situation of various types. Samosas are lovely as well as the naans. Service is very friendly too. No frills, go up and get what you want and pay at the end. The curries aren’t the best curries ever but for what you pay they are good and the portions are huge. I definitely recommend and would come back here again.

Absolutely LOVE This & That. I understand this to be something of an culinary institution in central Manchester, & for good reason! Food is inexpensive and great quality. Really love the grounded, down-to-Earth vibe of the place, & the staff are incredibly friendly and playful – Mo especially! I look forward to returning here as long as my legs are able to carry the rest of me (including my brain), towards another delicious plate of ‘rice-and-three’. Long live ‘This & That’! 11/10
